I've never done this before but I'm feeling completely overwhelmed, it's honestly ridiculous I am young, I am very successful with my professional life thus far, I live out of home and have what seems like a fantastic life. So why exactly am I completely and utterly overwhelmed by loneliness? Adult life is hard, it's isolating, depressing and not at all what I was expecting.
Any tips to meet new people, when you have a full time job + study ?

Hi anon,
Some ideas-
Low physically stressing sports like volleyball or badminton if you are able
Join a Lions or Rotary club
Walking/hiking groups
Internet dating although questionable a few years ago is more acceptable now
clubs to do with your hobby
My guess is that you are in your early twenties. It's a tough period to get through. Finishing your studies will free up your life if you find a job suited to your chosen career. Also travel is possible.
You really need to free up one day a week and two nights. Say Saturday and Sunday nights and all day Sunday. Even if you don't have anyone to join you in those times, time away from study is critical to your health. Get the balance right even if it means going part time with work if you can financially manage that.
Take care of your well being.

Hey Anon!
Welcome to Beyond Blue! First and foremost let me start of by taking this step and reaching out on the forums, As someone who was in the same position as you not that long ago I can guarantee It will help!
I am really sorry to hear that you are feeling this way and before I get started I think it is really important that if you only remember one thing from my message its this: You are not alone! I know you might feel lonely, which is perfectly fine we all feel lonely from time to time. However, at the very least you have this forum. Now it may not seem like much, but if nothing else It's nice to know that there are always people out there who care! And the funny part thing is, Like many others I came here because i felt lonely too and that mutual feeling of loneliness has sort of connected people on this forum. So please check in whenever you want and there will always be someone here + I'll be looking out for you in the future.
It's awesome that you are successful with your professional life! I would love to hear more about what you do. Do you have any co-workers you connect with? Also make sure you give yourself a break from it all, it might not seem smart in the short term but it will help in the long term.
What Obsessed and White Knight (I like your name btw) said was right. a GREAT way to meet new people and make friends is by finding an hobby you love. The hobby i chose was Surf life saving, and the best part is the other people doing the course/hobby already have at least 1 shared interest, so it really is one of the best ways to meet people.
Furthermore, It is important to remember that adult life shouldn't and isn't always like that! It is important to make sure that you are not over working, you need to find the balance. When i was in a similar position i felt sad and lonely but i didn't have a reason I had a pretty good life so then i was annoyed at myself for being sad and lonely but luckily I spoke to my GP and he diagnosed me with depression which believe it or not was actually an awesome day because the sooner you figure out what the problem is the sooner you can work towards fixing it!
I hope this helps and I can't wait to hear back from you!
Lots of love,
Smith98

Hey Anon girl, I think the best thing is to get into a group, possibly on meetup.com. A year ago I rsvp'ed to an anime group, and since then I've been regularly going. It's a great chance to talk to new people, and I guess it might be a good chance to separate you from your professional life and study and focus on something else when you're with those people.
As others have said, you could also try internet dating, I'm trying it, but since I'm a guy it's kind of useless. Exercising is also another good thing to do, as you've got no choice but to focus on working out, which makes it so you might experience less stress for the time while you're doing that.
