Hi I'm Tristan and I'm new here.
I don't really know what to post, I spent a lot of time reading through other people's forums but it made me realise I have no idea why I feel like this, and that's what scares. Through this past year I've experienced a massive amount of things. The biggest problem is recently I've found it harder and harder to go anywhere or even talk to anyone. The worst is it has potentially ruined the relationship between my gf and I. I panic over things and try to fix everything and even when I tell myself it's okay if I can't fix everything, my mind can't handle that. I just don't know what to do anymore because I don't know why I'm feeling this way.

Hey Tristan, welcome to the Beyond Blue forums. It's great you've reached out.
Feeling scared, panicking and not knowing what to do is a pretty crap experience. Not knowing why can also add to the scary feelings - that's crap too!
I really understand the difficulty in going out and talking to people I find it challenging sometimes too.
To have these unexplained things get in the way of you and your GF really sucks.
The good thing is there's some great resources on here to help. It sounds like you're experiencing anxiety - I can't make a diagnosis for you as I'm not a Dr but a visit to your Dr will certainly help to work out why you're feeling the way you are at the moment. Your Dr might refer you to a psychologist - they're really cool, they just ask lots of questions and help you explore what might be causing the crap that's going on.
If you have told your GF what's happening, there's some pages here that are written for people who love us and want to help. In the menus below "For me" and "friends and family" (there's also "young people")
Again, below in "The facts" there's some info there that may help.
It would be awesome if you could visit your Dr and gain a better understanding of what might be happening. If you don't have a regular Dr, there's some info in "Get support" below.
I'm sorry it's so scary at the moment Tristan, I think you've taken the hardest step to come on here and reach out. That step is always the difficult one.
Stay in touch and let us know how you're feeling.
Paul

dear Tristan, hello and it's great that you have decided to post your comment.
Being in a situation like are in, well there's nothing worse, but your comment ' I panic over things and try to fix everything and even when I tell myself it's okay if I can't fix everything' is something which relates to having no confidence, but what I am more concerned about is that people with OCD also have this problem, so I just wonder whether or not you have this illness, and if you don't know what this illness can do, can I suggest that you google it or type it it in the search bar above.
Hope to hear back from you. Geoff.
