Worried about my Mum.

My mother is in hospital right now, undergoing tests and we don't know exactly what's wrong. Diagnosis is taking time. I'm disabled and she's my carer, but now she can't even walk. I'm terrified. I don't know how to handle everything and the Aged Care system isn't proving easy to navigate. My fear is that she'll be sent home without a real diagnosis and we'll be just left to fend for ourselves. I have no idea how to cope. And I'm so afraid she won't make it if we don't find out what's wrong. I'm always putting on a positive, strong face, but she needs care, and I want her here, and I'm lost. Help, please.

Hi Belle Rose,

Sorry it took time for you to receive a reply. Have you had any news on your Mum's condition?

It is understandable that you feel so anxious and lost given that your Mum is your carer. Who else is in your life that you could reach out to for practical support? Are there any family members or friends who you could ask to help you?

In the meantime do you have a regular GP that you see or a counsellor? It might be worth making an appointment for yourself so that you have someone aware that you are struggling and need some advice on supports available in your local area.

If you are waiting at the hospital and want some light hearted distraction you are most welcome to join in on the social threads.

Please take care of yourself Belle Rose.

Hello Belle Rose

Welcome to the forums and thankyou for posting in this difficult time too

Like Quercus mentioned we are usually pretty quick in answering. I hope you have been updated with your mum's condition.

You have a ton on your plate right now and I would feel exactly the same as you are Belle Rose

There are many very gentle people on the forums that can be here for you. You are more than welcome to post back as many times as you wish

I hope you have even a small support network that you can lean on while you are going through this. If you need us we are here for you Belle Rose

My Best for you and of course your mum
