Hi Nikkibear,
That sounds terrible. I know anxiety can be so debilitating and intense.
You’re in understanding company here though...we are listening and many of us here understand what anxiety is like...
If and when you feel like writing, is it okay if I ask how you have been feeling since your opening post?
Thinking of you with kind thoughts,
Pepper

Hello Nikkibear,
I would also like to Welcome you to the forums..
I am sorry your struggling so much with your anxiety..
I have many times been unable to get myself outside my home to my volunteer work one day a week due to anxiety..
Its really good that you have an appointment with your gp to start you on a mental health care plan...that’s a huge step forward and can be very difficult to do.. Well done in doing this...Please Nikkibear, when your appointment does eventuate please tell your gp, exactly how your feeling and thinking so that you can get all the help you can and deserve so much...
I was very sceptical about meditation....but I did try it and persisted with practicing doing it before I go to sleep .....I usually do mindfulness through the day when I’m over anxious and before bed a guided meditation followed by a sleep story or gentle sleep music, with my ear phones in...I think we have to continue to try and find what works for us...What works for one or me, doesn’t mean it will work for you...Please Nikkiebear, It’s really important that we can try to distract out thoughts and by finding something that works for us to do this I feel is very important for us not to give up trying to find what does work for you..
I don’t go for walks as my anxiety keeps me inside my home most days...I used to walk before this illness caught me, and it was something I enjoyed and will certainly keep trying to do so I can get outside and just walk..
Kind thoughts..
Grandy..
