Hi DJA51,
Welcome to the beyond blue forums. I'm glad you decided to stop by. It is a great space with lots of people who have similar experiences with mental health and all are very supportive.
I am sorry about your son. The pain of losing someone through suicide never really goes away.
Congrats on your newest family addition. I bet you are excited to finally buy a few baby girl dresses.
I hope you start feeling a bit less flat soon. Enjoy the new baby smell.
Jess

Hi DJA51,
I’m deeply sorry for the loss of your son. To lose a child is always heart breaking, but to have lost him by his own hand must have been absolutely devastating. I can’t even imagine how heartbroken you must have felt and feel...
Congratulations on your first granddaughter 🙂 She must be so special to you and your family...
I must admit that your post me tear up. Just the sheer mix of emotions. Something as tragic as your son’s passing 3 years ago to something as joyous as your granddaughter’s recent arrival into the world...I felt a whole roller coaster ride of emotions in your post.
I agree it helps to feel less alone in our struggles. You have clearly been through a lot, but I’m glad you seem to be managing your depression okay, and that you’re reaching out here...
Is it okay if I ask would you like to tell us a little more about what has been happening? There’s no pressure to reply of course, but if you’re feeling up to it, it would be lovely to get to know you a little better.
Kind and caring thoughts,
Pepper
