Hi all šŸ™‚

Im new to the site, even though I looked at it for a long time.

I have been struggling deeply with my life and what it is I am meant for for a long time. Whether it is my work, my finances, my wife being sick, it just all gets to me and drifts my anxiety and depression in and out of control.

Somedays I struggle so badly, then some not so bad. It can hit in and instant and I find it hard to come back.

I have tried not to blame others for my misfortunes, I try to except responsibility for all my actions, All my mind wants to do is run...

Hi Wayno70,

Welcome to the community here on the forum. If you don't mind me asking, have you been to see a Dr to talk about how you are feeling? He/she may be able to make some suggestions on how you receive assistance and help yourself as well.

I quite often have issues with my purpose, the meaning of my life and why I am here. Maybe we don't always have to find the answer. Maybe it is okay to just drift along now and then and then find a place to chuck out the anchor further on.

A psychologist was trying to teach me how to accept the not so pleasant days and to not fight them, as that just helped add fuel to the negativeness. Acceptance helps me make peace with myself.

Can you make plans each day as to how to get through that day, then tomorrow have a plan and goals for that day. Trying to deal with everything at once can be overwhelming.

I'm not sure if my thoughts here are helpful or not! Hope you feel comfortable on the foruma nd connected as well.

Cheers to you from Dools

Hi Wayno,

Good on you for making that first post. There are a bunch of helpful friendly people here who get it. I feel like deciding what I wanted out of life was a real turning point. It didn't make the anxiety go away. But it did give me a foundation to build on. Something to move towards, rather than just going through the motions.

I guess the most helpful advice that someone gave me was, it doesn't matter what you choose. And you can change your mind at any time. But it's good to have a dream. Even a lofty one. And when I stopped trying to find the right thing.. The ideas started flowing.

Wishing you and your wife well.

Bill.
