Hi everyone,
There's a heap of information on the bb website and forums that can seem a bit overwhelming for new visitors, and you might not know where to start. The idea of this sticky thread is for posting quick questions for help on finding information, resources, or particular kinds of stories - I'll be able to reply to you in here and point you in the right direction.

Hi,
I think I've had a couple of posts pulled by moderators today and have no idea why. It is causing me to question what I have said that is so upsetting. I don't believe I have said anything bad, In fact I thought my messages were on topic, supportive and highly relevant. Am I out of line to expect an explanation (the rules say I would get a chance to edit or at the least a reason)? Or are my opinions not welcome here? I understand that It's not my board and all that, and will happily take my positive attitude somewhere else where I'm not left feeling like my voice is not equal. Your call.

Guest_5495 said:Hello,
Is there a way to search the forum?
I'm looking for other posts on OCD & other women with early onset perimenopause mood swings.
Thanks,
Persy
Hi Persy, the search function on our website isn't that great, unfortunately. The best way to find threads on our forums is to use Google and append "beyondblue forums" to the end of your search term. This will bring up related threads.

Hi triptych, I've emailed you privately about this. There may be a misunderstanding here, as we have not edited or removed any of your posts, with the exception of one thread you started about moderation which was in violation of our community rules. Happy to discuss further offline.

Hi Ned Black It is very worrying to a person, who is already anxious about everything in their life, when medical professionals make comments and then don't explain them selves. I myself have several conditions to contend with. The following are diagnosis from the professionals collected over the last 30 years. Depression, anxiety disorder, Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, diventiculitis disease drug and food allergies osteoarthritis in the spine, hands and feet globus [a condition that effects the throat and vocal chords ] temporal mandibular disorder[ effects the jaw ] There are probably others that I have forgotten about. Memory loss for me comes when I am under stress. The greater the stress the wider the memory loss. I have had times when I could not remember my own childrens' names. If/when you are speaking to this person again, ask him what he meant by that comment re dementia, and tell him that you become distressed when you are not fully explained comments/part information. When I go and see medical professionals, particularly the first time, I make notes of the most important information. If I am not well enough to take my own notes I ask the doctor, even my GP to write down the information or instructions that he/she is giving me. Sometimes I may need to take someone with me [ usually my husband]. Hope this helps

Dear Life is Hard~
As Chris said above the best way is simply to use the everyday Google search engine and put in the term you are searching for followed by 'beyondblue forum' (no quotes)
I searched for:
rtms beyondblue forum
and came up with:
Forums/ Treatments, health professionals and therapies/ Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and MAOIs
Which may be the thread you were searching for.

Dear Sairs~
Where to start is with a personal thread of your own, so welcome here to the Forum. A little thing like where to post is not something to worry about. If I might make a suggestion I'd post in one of 2 areas, and that depends on how you are feeling. For most people who talk about that same sorts of things as you they choose either:
https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/depression
or more probably:
https://www.beyondblue.org.au/get-support/online-forums/suicidal-thoughts-and-self-harm
You get to choose, you can go somewhere else if you prefer. With the above just copy and paste either link into your browser then when you get there hit the NEW THREAD button on the right hand side and off you go.
Please don't be put off by the names when choosing, these is nothing wrong with either, and things can be changed later if necessary. As for what to say and ask for, just do the best you can and don't stress about it too much. Some people talk great deal in their first post, others ease into it over several posts and replies.
The only thing to watch for is being too explicit, as there are great many people here, some of whom are very much struggling and easily triggered as a result. The Moderators will normally weed out anything inappropriate so just use common sense and all will be fine.
Don't worry, just try and see what happens, I - and others - will be looking out for your new thread
Thanks
Croix
