Hi CGP and welcome to the forums!

You've come to the right place for some help! beyond blue have wonderful resources about depression and anxiety, they way they work, and the different treatments avaliable. Have a read of the info under the Resources tab.

Medication is one option but have you thought about seeing a psycologist? Cognitive thinking therapy through sessions with a specialist is one of the most effective non-medicated forms of treatment avaliable.

What I suggest you do is take a visit to your local GP for a professional diagnosis, and discuss the different options avaliable and they will be able to refer you on.

Remember, negative thoughts are just reactions to fear, and anxiety thrives on avoidance. You won't feel like this forever, don't give up!
