Hi there, just introducing myself, you may see me around 🙂

I have suffered with depression of varying degrees on & off for years. Mostly these days I manage quite well, however still at times go into a dark, ugly hole and isolate myself and don't look after myself at all. Incredibly I continue to work in quite a demanding job during these times, however it is very much keeping my public face on, and I can feel exhausted and fake, and very stressed, projecting something that I'm not feeling.

I live by myself and have a few supports, at times I get very lonely, and wonder why I continue on, as it's not easy. I find loneliness can lead to depression; other times depression leads to isolation, so it can be a vicious circle.

Anyway thank you for reading through, I'm looking forward to being part of the community

Mickey 🙂

Hi mickey mooo, welcome

You could tell us what gender you are.

Lonliness, is so hard to endure. I often think how life would be if my wife wasnt here. I get a taste of that at times when we are apart.

I have a few threads you can google you might get something out if. Again, welcome.

Hi MickeyMoo

Welcome to the BB forum community. We are a community support system were we offer each other advice and support. Except for dr Kim none of us are are doctors or professional counsellors but fellow users like you.

I understand what it's like to have depression and anxiety that comes and goes. It can be super stressful and hard to deal with. I like to come to the community because I can chat (and offer support, I like to try and give back when I am feeling up to it) to others that understand how I feel dealing with a mental illness.

Welcome to the community and look forward to seeing you on the forums

hello MickeyMooo, depression is everybody's worse nightmare, we have no control when it will hit us or when it's strength doubles in size making it even more impossible to get on with our life.
There are times when we pretend to go through a transparent stage where we try and cover up this illness, but it's not possible, it's with you 24/7 and it even sleeps with you and if you can't sleep then it's always there tossing and turning around in your mind.
Living by yourself can hurt you so much, just as living with someone who keeps asking you questions to do this or do that, in other words if you are struggling with depression in any shape or form it makes your life feel as though there couldn't be any help for you to overcome this illness, and if you want to try by yourself it won't happen, it's virtually impossible, you need someone who can help you get you off the tracks towards destruction.
The sooner this is done the sooner you will be able to find some peace. Geoff.
