Porn Addiction

Please help. I'm looking for a mens group to be able to talk about my online porn addiction. It's driving me nuts but I cant seem to find anything online in Sydney or any meeting places in Sydney. I don't want to be referred to the USA because they all seem to be religious groups. I need secular help. Preferably local. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Damien, I'm sorry that you are struggling with this addiction and if I can suggest you google this 'help for porn addiction in australia', there are many places where you can get help, but it's very courageous of you to post this comment, remember it's anonymous and nobody knows who you are or where you live, so you can feel safe.

Another site to google is 'how to help with porn addiction Australia' and this type of addiction has been going on for a very long time, it's just a matter of how it controls your life, your relationship, marriage or connection with somebody you may love.

We'd really like to hear back from you.

Geoff.

Im sorry your struggling with porn addiction, like any adduction its debilitating. I realise you specifically want secular help and as an atheist I've found it hard to get help for my own addictions. But I am 15 yrs clean and sober thanks to 12step groups, i know they aren't for everyone but ive found them fantastic, esp with todays atheist groups. You could try SLAA and just voice your needs for secular support.
I personally just ignored the higher power references or consider nature/the ocean a power greater than me, i certsinly cant stop a wave.I hope you get the help you need.

hello and welcome.

you made the 1st step in this journey - recognising a problem, and now looking for some place that is able to help help you overcome the addiction. And it takes courage and strength to post here about what is going on. Just to add to the possible search options, if you do a google search for...

online porn addiction therapy in australia

some of the results on the 1st page showed places located in Sydney - these were more in line with professional services vs support groups and maybe contacting them you you might be able to find other or additional support.

I hope you are able to find what you are looking for.
