Hi guys and girl,

Lately i been really struggling with my memory i been forgetting peoples names , where i am , trouble concentrating on anything , not enjoying the things i used to love , forgetting what im doing , depressed and even more anxious than before. Im really worried that i could be dealing with early onset alzheimer's disease im only 32 (33 this year) so im hoping thats im too early in life to get that. I've been on medication for years now for my anxiety so im hoping that other people on here have had the same problem to put my mind a little at ease.

Good evening stueyb🙂

I'm sorry that you are struggling with your memory which has already impacted your daily life, and your concern (early-onset dementia); Besides this, there can be various reasons that cause memory loss; You may talk to your GP about your concern, I'm sorry that your worries have been bothering you.

I also have some problems with concentrating, short-term memory etc but we may be in a different situation. one psychiatrist once told me that memory loss could be one side effect of meds (I took meds for GAD). This can be the reason but I'm not sure. I found this on Healthline: Anxiety-related memory loss can lead to more anxiety as you are unable to recall key details like birthdays and other significant events, leading to tension or conflict in personal relationships; have trouble remembering steps that make daily routine such as cooking.
