What is the cause of my unhappiness?

Har0
Community Member

I am seeking clarity for my unhappiness, short temper, loneliness as I've been through a few life changes.

Firstly, I moved to an area that is a long hour drive from work, children's school etc and have adapted to this change. I do like being here but tired all the time making sure children don't miss out on things.

Secondly, a long on going conversation with partner regarding affection. I'm affectionate but now feel like e an idiot when I approach partner as I het nothing back

When we discuss this he says nothing, it occasionally gets too much and I get upset but he's over it and says nothing.

Thirdly, my teenager 17, hates everything I say, too strick, never say anything right and I end up in a screaming conversation with then.

A lot to take in but I'm over it all and don't know where to start.

  1. Never joined antlything like this before. Nervous

Hey there Har0!

welcome to the forums. Start with the easy bit ... if you have not used a forum before I can understand the nervousness you mentioned. What I can say is that many here would have felt the same; and at the same time, we like to think our ourselves as non-judgemental and supportive.

On the 17 year old - a couple of things to think out ... what are they like in public? better than at time? polite? Based on my own experience (2 children in early 20s) and when I was that age, we/they (we at there age) might think they know best, and mum and dad don't understand.

On unhappiness - from what I did read it sounds like you  are going through such a challenging time, and carrying a heavy load and these changes and issues are taking a toll on your happiness and well-being. I could say that how you might have a conversation with partner and teen might be helpful (based on my own therapy journey) but will leave that for a later post.

I hope you had an OK day today?
