Walk away.

You are allowed to walk away from people who are not good for your mental health. There are certain people with whom you just do not like your behaviour and the way they make you feel. It does not mean that those people are bad humans, it simply means that the two of you are vibing on different levels. Do not be afraid to let go of those who drain you, make you feel less than you are, talk you down or do not appreciate you. You are not running away from them, darling. You are simply showing yourself the respect you deserve by controlling who is allowed to be in your life. You have the power to decide what kind of energy you want to be surrounded with - choose wisely. It is so important to surround yourself with people who are positive, kind, loving and supportive, no matter what. Do not be scared to remove toxic people from your life. You are in control of your life.

Great post.

I'd agree with it fully, in fact I've walked away from my destructive mother that ruined my 1st wedding and tried to ruin the second one 25 years later. I've walked away from my youngest daughter as her abuse of me exceeded that of her mothers abuse while married to her.

The question arises- what to do if these people come knocking on your door?

I decided long ago to?- welcome them! But that doesn't mean I'll have them actively in my life, it means have a cuppa, remind them firmly what they did, suggest they ruined any chance of healing and wave goodbye.

Then they'll be no guilt I carry.
