Ok team so I'm a gym junkie which I guess is a good thing but most of the time while there I listen to dark angry music, which I guess is not very beneficial to my mental health. Any suggestions of songs I can add to my new and empty "positive playlist"

Hey Switchoff,
Thanks for your post.
Absolutely nothing wrong with listening to dark angry music; especially if it helps. I listen to a lot of heavy music during my workouts and find that it makes me push a bit faster or do that extra rep. As for depression, there's actually been a research study that's showed that heavy metal music can actually help depression as it regulates your emotions a bit more.
Although, if you still do want some less angry music - what sort do you listen to now? Then I can think of songs that might 'go down a notch'.
Currently the music I'm listening to is Flight Facilities, Eminem (the old stuff), Thundamentals, Disclosure, London Grammar and Chainsmokers.

Thanks for the reply romantic_thi3f's.
i do have a dark playlist also which does make me train hard however sometimes the songs get overwhelming and I get myself to a breaking point, so to speak, which results in me having to hide in the bathroom and hold back the tears. (Really who cry's in the gym)
my dark list consists of a lot of Lincoln Park, Eminem Metallica.
As for the positive list im open to any ideas.

Hey Switchoff,
Thanks for your reply.
I wonder if maybe it would help to try and take breaks with your music; so if your workout is an hour maybe pause it or switch to something else for a little bit and that way it becomes easier to bear. That's often one thing I do and then I just try to focus all my attention on my body and how it feels; i.e. muscles burning heart racing etc. It's also a great way of being mindful which can help.
I think there's been a great list of songs already. Another thing that might be worth trying is listening to the radio or Spotify which have a 'Discover Weekly' list. This is personalised based on the music that you listen to. They also have pre-made lists like 'Beast Mode' which can still give you the beat that you need for the gym but might not be as heavy.
You could also try - http://www.spotalike.com/ which is where you enter an artist and it shows songs like it. Oh, and the Shazam app - for when you're listening to the radio (or anything really) as it can be a great way to find new artists.
