Mothers Day 2020

Firstly I hope everyone who still have their mum really appreciated them not just for today but every day.
Sadly I lost mine on 31st July 2015. I have good memories and a visit to the cemetery gave me some sense of peace. I had the opportunity to be with her when she left. Sadly during this pandemic not all people got that opportunity. For
Those people I feel so sad for you and hope you can think of them in better days. To all mums please have a safe and healthy day. A friend of mine said to me that every day is mothers day as they never take a day off. My mum said make
Every day count as no use feeling regret once they have gone. This I managed to do before she left so this makes my
loss a lot easier. Isolation may be hard but a loss is harder. Appreciate what you have now for this period will not last
Forever.

Another year

31st July will mark five years since mum left. Its hard enough but now my only friend had her mum pass away 7 days ago so now we share july as memory day for our mums. I am supporting her as best i can but never want to intrude so early. Luckily i had bought card and small gift and was going to leave it at her front door but she saw me and welcomed me and spent two hours. She has been good to me in my dark days so now am glad to be helpful to her. Today i was not in a good head space but now i can help her. I met her mum so was sad. Thank god for one good friend. Even she passed the same way as my mum in having a stroke so that was hard to hear.

Now I need to keep mentally healthy for not only her but me which is hard to do.

To all who still have their mums, please stay close especially in these awful times.

Dear Guest~

It may be only a crumb of comfort but I'm sure your help for your friend will be that much more comforting following your own sad experience. So many have no idea, at least your friend knows you understand, even without words.

I've found it has been hard to jump one way or the other on anniversaries. I started out the first few years planning a day of distraction, of later years came to think more in terms of a day with activity, but memories too.

Do you and your friend have anything planned?

Hi Rusty,

sorry to hear of your loss.

Even though some time has passed it is still a significant event in your life.

It is something you will never forget. We only get one Mum.

Your post is a testament that you loved her very much. You shared a great love. She looked after you and gave you love. You gave it back in return. That is the best.

A loss of an estranged family member is worse.

Lots of love to you and your family,

regards,

Happy Cat

Hello croix

Thank you for reply. My friend and I caughtbup a week after her mother passed and went to a movie and as it was on my birthday she gave me some beautiful flowers. Such generous nature thinking of me at such sad times but she had been preparing for many months as her mum had alzheimers. I was always there for her as she was when my mum passed on 31st july 2015. Another visit this friday. She was glad to have an outlet to talk to. We used to work at grow and became good friends. Now we go out each month for a catch up which is good for both our mental health. I am so glad to have one good friend than a few. Her mums funeral is on this wednesday so my thoughts will be with her on the day and will contact her after a few days.

Dear Rusty~

Having a mutual friendship and understanding is one of the very best thngs. It sounds like your friend's mum has started to lose her faculties. This is so hard to bear. The parent one had known , respected and loved has gradually dissipated until it is only possible to go though the motions.

Something that causes great grief.

I hope in time your brother comes closer, sometimes being family overrides the past.
