My problems are so small but I’m still so sad

Ok…

this is my first time talking about this soooo

Lately I’m just so down. I’m unmotivated. Sad. Tired. Bored in class. Grumpy. Moody. Everything.

Im usually a bubbly person but I’m just faking it now so people don’t notice. There’s nothing seriously wrong with my life though, and I feel horrible that I’m depressed with this beautiful life I have! Like there are people starving, and I’m here complaining about me being depressed about my boring life! Like I feel so petty saying this.

In school I’m usually happy and smiling but now I just try to be calm and to not cry.

I get good sleep but I wake up tired. I have a shower in the morning and just cry because I’m awake.

I fought with my brother today, over nothing. Nothing. I mean he did hit me in my ear but I shouldn’t have to cry before he sees that he is being mean. This morning I fought with my dad over nothing. Again. The only thing in my life that makes me happy is food and music now.

sad

Lulu00

welcome to the forums and thanks for your honest post.

It can be so confusing when you feel different. How long

have you been feeling different..?

would you feel ok about talking to your doctor or contacting kids help line. 1800 55 1800.?

It can help to talk to another person.

I know it feels scary when you feel depressed but there is help and there are people who will understand.

you are not alone we are listening.

Hi thank you ❤️

I’ve been feeling off for around two months… yeah I know it’s good to talk to people about it, but there isn’t anything they can do, right? Like there isn’t a problem to fix because it’s just me being sad.

Hi Lulu

Matters of the heart (esp involving heartache) are never a small problem. While you are obviously grateful for all you have in life, there is nothing wrong with needing more. The ability to feel when there's something missing is an ability.

While depression really set in for me around the age of 20 (to the point where I could seriously feel it), I'd say my journey into that particular depression began around 16. That's when I began to feel a little lost and sad. It's such a tough age, when we're typically most in need of guidance and support.

Over the years, I've worked out one of the main triggers for depression for me involves depressing low level of energy. If healthy levels are what lead us to feel connected to life, without those healthy levels we can feel so disconnected.

Some energy based factors

  • Some of the ways we may have been led to think/mentally process things. Some of the beliefs put into our head can bring us down and stop us energetically rising to become more of who we naturally are
  • Exhausting mental and physical energy with no recharge periods. The 6 week school holidays or time off work are so important
  • Not enough energy being put in (through food, exercise, good sleep, hydration etc). Inspiration is also energising. A lack of it can be a problem. Glad you're able to feel inspiring energy in music
  • Healthy levels of chemical energy such as that relating to B12, iron etc. Depressing low levels become an issue. Blood tests can help identify or eliminate some chemical energy issues. Btw, when there's a deficiency, this can lead to some dark thoughts. Eg: if we don't have the energy needed to get off the couch and be active (stemming from an iron deficiency), we can start thinking 'I'm so lazy. Why can't I function like everyone else? I'm hopeless' etc

Lots more reasons.

Lulu, feelings are so important. They tell us when something's wrong or something's right. While it's easy to feel when something's wrong, not always easy to get a feel for what it is.
