Hi guys,

having one of those low days currently... Nothing has happened to me and I have nothing but good things happening with myself and my family but I feel the sinking feeling in my chest, feeling low/ flat/ down and on the verge of tears for no apparent reason.

How do you guys best manage your low days?

I'm having one of those low days. Unfortunately I'm stuck at work and can't do anything to help relieve my symptoms, so I'm just getting anxious. My brain feels heavy, throat closing in, my heart feels like it's been replaced with a rock and my limbs feel heavy and I feel like the slightest thing could send me over the edge and make me cry.

Wishing there was something I could do about it but I have to tough it out... trying to take it easy and not pressure myself to get a lot done...

Hi Zailleh,

Those days can be tough when everything tightens up inside and the brain feels heavy. I have learnt that when that happens my body is telling me to slow my thinking down, take a spiritual break if that makes sense. You think you are not on thinking overdrive but somewhere in there it has become heavy and our mind has become congested. Go for a 5 min walk if you can away from people, take a moment , a few breathes and tell yourself to simply let go of everything at those few moments and just be. Tell yourself that nothing is permanent everything is continuously changing and evolving. To everyone. Tell yourself that you will treat yourself to a nourishing bath, meal, massage or long sleep when you get home because that is what you deserve. When you tell yourself things that are encouraging, loving and supportive you strengthen your soul. I always tell myself "this will pass" and it does.

I felt low again yesterday and my body ached from stress of overthinking and I did exactly that. We need more regular 'stillness and quiet time' to feel and process out feelings and to let go. Take a moment to let go of past and future thoughts and just focus on the present moment. It isnt easy to do at first but if you take 5mins a day a practice this it really helps. It is helping me.

Hope it helps you too.

Take care till next time

Hey chriss,

Thanks for the advice. It wasn't useful in this instance, nothing really helped. Had depressing evening. Ordered pizza and watched X-FIles, didn't help. Feel better this morning though. It was clearly just one of those days.

I love the X Files. Do you have a favourite episode?

Not really. It's been years since I last saw any so I'm watching it again from the beginning.

I did that last Christmas. I think I prefer the stand alone episodes instead of the conspiracy ones, although Smoking Man is a great villain. There's a whole episode about his history which is fun. There's also a really clever one that is done as an episode of 'Cops' that I liked.
