Hormonal anxiety and depression

I’m looking to connect with someone who is experiencing the same things as Iam. Almost 3 weeks ago I had been feeling super dizzy and extreme fatigue, felt like there was an elephant on my chest and just super sad. I didn’t know what was going on, until I went to the doctors and told him I had been feeling but I didn’t have anything triggering why I had been feeling the way I had been feeling. He put it down to hormonal anxiety and depression, and a really bad side effect after coming of birth control.

I’m on antidepressants which are helping heaps. And I’m just trying to get through each day.

Hi MM and a belated welcome to the forums.

Sometimes posts slip through which is distressing but it doesn't mean people don't care.

How have you been holding up since you posted? Are the antidepressants helping?

I've stopped trying to analyse why I feel depressed if there is no obvious reason. Hormones, medication side effects... You name it and most of us here have been told that might be a cause at some point. But sometimes there isn't a logical explanation.

What sort of things do you find help you get through each day? Are there any things you can do that help ease the sadness even for a while?

You described an elephant on your chest and overwhelming sadness where I would describe my depression as tight knots in my belly and chest and burning behind my eyes. Everyone feels it differently. But people here can and will relate.

I hope you feel able to return and join in around the forums if it feels helpful for you.
