Centrelink Review

Hi all,
I have to relocate interstate and terrified about a Centrelink review for my DSP.

I will have new GP's, Clinical Psycologists etc. Not sure how they will understand me and support me with CL and the DSP.

Is the CL review process for the DSP as bad as applying for it in the first place?

Thank you and you’re feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Hi MysticMark,

I’m very sorry about the late reply. Sometimes it accidentally happens, so please don’t think it has anything to do with you. Again, I do apologise...

Your upcoming Centrelink Review does sound very, very stressful. I can only imagine how fearful you must be feeling...

Unfortunately, I’m afraid that I know very little about the DSP, but I still wanted to reach out to you. I hope that’s okay...

But I have heard a number of people mention the DSP here on the forums. So hopefully someone who is better informed than me will soon see your thread and share their personal experience and knowledge.

Kind and caring thoughts,

Pepper

Hi MysticMark

As Pepper mentioned above, we are usually pretty quick in responding and my apologies for the delay in you receiving a response

Firstly good on you for moving interstate and making the decision to do so too!

The DSP is difficult to obtain only because of a minority of people that have been paid the DSP when they were not really entitled to it by placing applications that were inaccurate

I am sure that your new health professionals will be more than understanding where your health and a CL review is concerned. I do know that CL review procedures pay particular attention to a current and established record of you seeking any counseling/therapy as an indicator of your willingness to help yourself heal

If you have any questions you are more than welcome to ask 🙂

The forums are a rock solid safe and non judgemental place for you to ask any questions you wish. We always try to provide the best possible support through our own life experience

Hello MysticMark, can I thoroughly support what Pepper and Paul have said, and to actually apply for a DSP is not as easy as going to the supermarket, and what this means, is every time the government changes, the rules aren't the same as they were before.

If you click onto this or instead copy and paste in your search browser might help you:

To help you lodge a DSP claim with Centrelink download our disability support pension checklist (docx, 141.69 KB)
and you can apply as often as you want, just have an understanding GP and a psychiatrist/psychologist to support you in every possible way.

Best wishes.

Geoff.

Hi MysticMark.

The centrelink review is nothing like applying for it. Its pretty straight forward with the forms assuming of course your still genuinly needing it then theres nothing to worry about. The most important thing is that your health profesionals have detailed records of your previous profesionals. Make sure your records have properly transfered before you discharge from your current ones. I know the horrible feeling when a cl review comes up but you'll be ok.

Cheers lynne

Thank you Pepper.

Thank you Lynne and everyone else for your response.
It's comforting to know it's not as daunting as applying in the first place.

I will be definitely continuing with my regular GP and Psychologists support in my new state along with the many medications I need to be on.
Many thanks and blessings.
