Hi All,
I hope everyone is staying safe and well during this hectic time. Since it looks like a fair number of us are due for some extended time inside, I thought I might poke around Netflix and see what was available that I might recommend. I think this would be a great place to talk about films, especially our favorites to watch when home sick or our go-to rewatchables. The ones below are all available on Australian Netflix as of the time of posting. I did my best to avoid anything too heavy/serious/related to sickness!
Action & Adventure:
Princess Mononoke (1997): Gorgeously animated environmentalist fairytale with great English-language voice acting
John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum (2019): incredibly stylish, hyper-violent third entry in the hitman series starring Keanu Reeves
The Matrix (1999): mind-bending story about a society run as a computer simulation
Jurassic Park (1993): Feel-good but thrilling classic about a theme park where dinosaurs are brought back to life
Baby Driver (2017): heist movie about a getaway driver with a great soundtrack
Kids & Family
Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade (1989): Excellent adventure about the search for the Holy Grail with Harrison Ford and Sean Connery
The Iron Giant (1999): Touching animated movie about a boy’s relationship with a robot
Shrek/Shrek 2 (2001/2004): Funny animated send-up of fairytales enjoyable for adults as well
Matilda (1996): Danny DeVito’s adaptation of the Roald Dahl story of a precocious girl and the unimpressive adults in her life
Hairspray (2007): campy adaptation of the John Waters original about an aspiring singer in 1960s Baltimore

Thanks so much for your posts.
Couple of movies I really liked-
Meet Joe Black with Anthony Hopkins. It is a long movie, but really worth a look
Phenomenon with John Travolta. A beautiful movie about how kind people can be etc
Punch Drunk Love with Adam Sandler. Not your typical Adam Sandler movie if your not an Adam Sandler fan.
Horrible Bosses 1 & 2. I have had bosses like these that's probably why I liked these 2 movies.
Predestination with Ethan Hawke
The Untouchables (French Edition). Despite the subtitles it is really worth a look.
Any other suggestions anyone may have would be great.

Also seen Total Recall and Dangerous Liaison many years ago. Both were okay.
Also saw I Tonya and Let The Right One In from your previous posts. Both were very good. Brilliant acting by Margot Robbie.
Two great movies of Will Smith's are Seven Pounds and Hancock. Also Focus with Margot Robbie as well.
I like your posts. Keep up the great work.

The Untouchables is a really heartwarming movie. Great acting, too.
Punch Drunk Love is a great movie. I like all the sisters lol.
I haven't seen many movies lately, just TV series.
There is a great series called Love Life on Stan, and otherwise I'm finishing off You. Fleabag Season 2 was pretty interesting, but I admit I found the whole show a bit sad.
There is a new show out with Jennifer Aniston called the Morning Show, but I can't find it online.
AMC you might like a show called Barry, with Bill Hader. It's about a hitman who falls in love with acting. Henry Winkler is really amazing in it as the acting coach. Happy streaming!

Love seeing these recommendations and hearing what everyone's watching! Perhaps before too long we may even be back in the cinema...
Punch Drunk Love has been on my watchlist for ages because I love Paul Thomas Anderson! I believe Morning Show is exclusive to Apple's native streaming service.
Some great Black American cinema to recommend that I've seen recently might be:
I Am Not Your Negro– wonderful documentary about the writer and intellectual James Baldwin, available on SBS On Demand
Moonlight– gorgeous Best Picture winner about a young gay Black boy growing up in Miami
Inside Man– a thrilling heist genre movie from Spike Lee.
Has anyone had the chance to see Da Five Bloods yet?

eight do you think possible to see baby driver without getting totally creeped out by Kevin Spacey?
I wish i could erase him every time on screen, but it sounds like such a good movie - wanna see.

and posting again, third time lucky, but just wanted to also add these two Netflix miniserieses -
Has anyone seen Unorthodox (about leaving a Hassidic Jewish sect)
and Dirty John (about a woman who meets a questionable guy on an online dating site - and her kids hate him)...
Both true stories... great watching!
