Hey! Welcome to Friends Cafe.

This is a chill and chat space for young BB members to talk about anything and everything and make new friends.

When school's getting to you, uni or work has got you down, parents, partners, friends don't understand, and especially if you're feeling alone or lonely - come and relax awhile and talk to others who know just how you feel.

Our minds can cause us trouble, but they can also be amazing things that imagine beauty, love and fun. This cafe has everything you can imagine. To start with it's, well, a cafe. So there's chairs and tables, comfy couches for flopping, a big screen tele, unlimited download on computers for games, Spotify (or an old-school jukebox if you prefer), every movie you can think of on instant demand ... whatever you want, it's here. Post and tell us what'd you'd like.

Plus, there's an infinite menu of whatever food or drinks takes your fancy. And it's all free!

To kick it off, today we have a special range of Monster Milkshakes - those thick gooey shakes topped with cronuts, chocolate bars, cake, cookies ... whatever you want. And if you can get through one of them, you're a legend (and probably feeling a little bit sick LOL!)

Welcome friends.

Hello everyone!! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days, school has been a bit hectic, and today I'm packing for Kakadu tomorrow!

James, I can really relate to situations like that, not the drills specifically, but being in a place with lots of people and lots of noise? I was recently in the foyer at school along with about 80 other students (all very loud) and I almost had a panic attack! I was very restless and couldn't stop moving around, I eventually pushed my way to the edge of the crowd with help from my friend and I managed to clam down a bit, but it was all very scary. That's happened a few times.

SM! I absolutely LOVE To Kill A Mockingbird!!! I swear its one of the best books ever. I hope you have fun with your boyfriend's family, and your parents 🙂

Hello Dottie, I've been OK this week. not exactly great, but not terrible, so just sort of OK. I hope your that your mid sem exam mark will be good *prays for you* and I hope these 10 days go by quickly! Best wishes for any more exams and assignments.

So there's my update, not sure if I'll get around to posting later today, so if I don't, just letting you know I won't be posting for about a week as I doubt I'll be able to get on here in Kakadu 😞

Hugs for all,

Tara xo

Hi everyone!! Thank you Dottie, SM, and Tara for your kindness earlier 🙂

Wow Tara, I hope you have a great time at Kakadu!! And James, I hope you've been well 🙂 I really relate to feeling uneasy in those situations too, walking in the school corridor often leaves me feeling very anxious, and my first proper panic attack was during an evacuation drill at school.

I also love To Kill a Mockingbird! I read it at the beginning of high school then studied it in year 9, and I think I can say it's one of my favourite books 🙂

Dottie, all the very, very best for your exams and other uni work! 🙂

SM, I hope uni has been going well and that you enjoy the basketball game and spending time with your boyfriend!!

I've been pretty good the past couple of days, and I hope you all have been too! I have a lot to do but I keep procrastinating haha, I should probably start something now!

Take care and have a nice weekend 🙂

Hi ahw, Dottie, Tara and James,

ahw, thanks for your kind words. I always do enjoy being with my boyfriend - it's like we're both romantic partners and best friends 😄 I'm very glad you've been doing well these past few days. I can completely relate to procrastination - I am very skilled at it 😛

Hopefully you can have some relaxing time this weekend Dottie, even if it's just for an hour 🙂

Tara: have an amazing time at Kakadu. Don't worry about being offline - doing this from time to time can be good for your mental health! You'll have other students to talk to, and you'll be out in nature more.

James, have a great weekend 😄 I hope you're doing better now after the stress at work.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Best wishes,

SM

Hi everyone,

Tara, thank you for your well wishes! I hope so too!

Sorry your week has been a bit meh. Although you're been putting one foot in front of the other- and sometimes that's the best we can do. I hope your week at Kakadu is better. I hope you see gorgeous scenery and make wonderful memories there 😊

Ahw, it's lovely to hear from you again! I'm happy for you that you've had a couple of nice days. Thanks, I hope you have been having a great weekend too!

SM, thanks! I'm having an early night tonight after a day at the library 😊 And you and your boyfriend sound like you have a beautiful, trusting relationship. I'm glad you have each other.

James, thinking of you. Hope you enjoyed the game yesterday (as well as the walk home afterwards)! 😊

Everyone else, I hope you're all doing okay and feel free to join the conversation here!

Hi Dottie and other friends,

I hope everyone has had a decent start to their week. If not, here's hoping it picks up soon!

Yesterday was good and productive for me. This morning I received my mark back for an essay I thought I did well on. I did fine, but not as well as I had hoped. I was disappointed. The upside is that it made me want to come on the forum and respond to people's posts. Sometimes when I'm frustrated at myself, I come here and try to give advice to others. It makes me feel as though I have a specific purpose in that moment.

Best wishes to all!

SM

Hey SM,

We often measure success by $ or marks, but compassion is what is truly valuable, and I think you have plenty of that indeed 🙂

It's good that you're driven and I know you've got the right mindset of looking forward and doing the best you can next time.

Nice work

James

Hi SM,

Well done on your productive day yesterday. Aw here's a virtual hug. I can relate to the feeling of disappointment when it comes to receiving a grade that I'm not ecstatic about. It's not a great feeling- I would know.

Nevertheless, you still sound like you pulled through okay. As James said, you're capable and have a wonderful attitude so onwards and upwards for next time 😊

Thanks for posting on the forum. I've seen many of your replies and you're always very warm and helpful. We appreciate you here.

Hugs,

Dottie

Hi Dottie,

You're so kind, and I really appreciate your support! Thank you also for your sweet comment about me and my boyfriend earlier on. We are very lucky to have found each other. I love him so much, and we both literally want to spend the rest of our lives together. I will not continue, in case I get too sappy!

I hope you are doing okay. If you ever want to talk, you know where to come! 🙂

Best wishes,

SM

Hi SM,

Ha, ha no worries. You and your boyfriend have an amazing relationship. Feel free to be as sappy as you like- it just shows that he means a lot to you 😉

I'm currently at uni as I'm writing this-finished work today and I'm having a late lunch. I've no classes today but I'll be swinging by the uni library to work on an assignment. I can't wait till the summer break! Definitely letting my hair down then!
