Panic attacks making me dizzy.

Hi. I've suffered from anxiety and severe panic attacks for years. I've recently given up pot after using it for the past year to relax after my stress full job of telemarketing! Since I have given it up,along with cigarettes 8 weeks ago,I've started gambling on the horses. I'm anxious before I go into the tab but I like it and don't do to badly. I know that I am a compulsive gambler though. Any way my panic gets really bad whilst gambling to the point of dizziness and vertigo!! Is this because I know I shouldn't be gambling!? It's become so bad that today I found it hard to stand on my feet and couldn't get out of my car. This is terrible!!!

Hi KMODITY,

I think it is good you have given up the smoking however replacing it is with gambling is a heathier choice for your physical health, it is not good for the mental state of mind which you might be getting these symptoms also due to the withdrawal from the smoking. I am in by no means a doctor, more just thinking out loud.

Have you ever spoken to your GP about all these feelings of panic? It does seem something that needs to be address by a health professional so I do encourage you to make an appointment with your local GP and let them know exactly as you described above, they may suggest speaking to a psychologist which will most likely be beneficial for you as well.

Please, post back as much as you like, we are always happy to talk.

My best for you,

Jay

Hi KMODITY,

It is good that you have told the doctors, are they helping you with it at all?

It is a long hard road to recovery but you can get there.

My best,

Jay
