I'm in my 50s and have a good job. I've been struck down with anxiety for 5 months now. I'm considering quitting my job and career due to the anxiety. I'm scared to do that but it's becoming harder each day to face work. I changed role but it hasn't helped much with reducing the anxiety. I feel like I have failed if I stopped working. I'm ok financially but still supporting one of my kids through uni. I want to have a break but feel if I do, my whole life will crumble. I need to hear from others on how they coped with anxiety.

Hi and welcome,
You've come to the right place to talk to others who have anxiety, thats for sure.
If you dont mind can I ask a few questions?
Is your anxiety due to work or is it simply making it worse?
Have you talked to your GP about seeing a psychologist?
And for a positive note, it will pass, it always does.

Hi. I think work makes the anxiety worse. If things are uncertain at work, it seems to add to my anxiety load.
I have a good GP, seeing a psychologist and a psychiatrist. A good team behind me but I haven't been able to make much progress out of this. Scared to stay with the status quo and also scared to change.
