Hello Dear millhhaus!
Being anxious while trying to sleep does make it hard, and then worrying about trying to get to sleep really does stop us from sleeping....it’s a cycle that goes round and round,,,
Have you tried listening to some sleep stories while your in bed trying to sleep.....They are gently read stories of peaceful places.....Listening with all my mind on the story does get me to sleep nightly....also you could try a full body meditation, music...
No caffeine a few hours before bed...also helps and having a hot chamomile tea before bed help you to relax...
Not sure if you have tried my suggestions, if not maybe you might give them a try...
Talk here when you feel up to it...
My kindest thoughts with my care dear millhhaus..

Hi millhhaus,
My anxiety is also disrupting my sleep. I feel tense and wake up feeling confused - like I don't know where I am or what day it is.
For me, I've been feeling overwhelmed by both work and family. No personal space to feel the calmness that I desperately need. Have you identified what's causing your negative feelings?
Have you tried listening to classical music? Play it quietly in the background. It might help you to relax and drift off to sleep.

Hi millhhaus,
I know how frustrating and upsetting it can be when anxiety plagues you as you try to fall asleep.
Have you tried the app 'Calm' or 'Smiling Mind'? When I am stuck with racing anxious thoughts and start to lose touch with my reality, I choose a meditation or story from these and it usually helps me to come back to the present moment and take my mind off the anxiety in order to fall asleep.
This, or reading a book before bed can help you wind down and ease your mind to fall asleep.
Best wishes.
Jaz.

Hello dear millhhaus...
Thank you so much for getting back to me..
There are several different readers of sleep stories...If it’s okay I would like to suggest “Dan Jones” sleep stories...he is a hypnotist and has a very gentle soothing voice...In the search box of YouTube just search Dan Jones...and many of his stories will pop up...
Wishing you all the best tonight..
My kindest thoughts..
Grandy..

Hi!
I struggle with sleeping too! My strategy is to think of random words in my head until I get tired and eventually fall asleep. I make sure the words aren't connected. E.g. Mouse, chocolate, tree, stapler.
Another strategy I use is to blink 100 times which causes your eye muscles to be exhausted.
if you use your phone before you sleep, make sure it is only for 30 mins and it is on night mode!
Hope this helps!
