Need some support

Hi all, haven’t posted in awhile. Getting my booster today and feeling nervous. I was ok with my first 2 doses I did get a few heart flutters with I think was due to being anxious as they went away when I calmed myself. Did anyone have heart flutters after getting vaccinated? I think that’s why I’m so nervous I know it’s only temporary with the side effects but I just dread it. Any tips on how to calm down and try and not think about it

I reacted exactly the same way to the booster as the vaccines, because it's actually the same vaccine again I believe. But while that's logical, our brains don't work that way, so there's no shame in feeling some anxiety.

It does sound like your anxiety may have made it worse for you but it doesn't sound like it was dangerous, just unpleasant? Is there anything you can do to keep your mind occupied? I find I'm at my worst when I have nothing to do ,then my mind races with worse case scenarios, so if I don't have work to do, I'll play music or read a book.

I’m planning on coming home and cleaning up and doing puzzles ect but because I have health anxiety one little thing I find wrong with body I go into full panic mode. I look for signs,I check my heart rate look for signs there’s something wrong. I hate it. I’m getting it at 1130 and don’t think I’ll be able to listen to music for the whole time or do a puzzle for the whole day.

Yeah, I get that it's tough. Keep talking here if you need to, I'm here all day 🙂 Sometimes the way our brains work isn't really as convenient as it could be, but if we understand ourselves, we can recognise when a way of thinking is not helpful and figure out a way to navigate it. Sadly that's the best we can do.

Thank you. I will keep that in mind. Might need to talk to someone afterwards.

Just had it. I feel super anxious 😥.

Hang in there, you've got this!!!

I actually had to ring for support. I wasn’t feeling the best. But the guy I spoke to was lovely and calmed me down. I don’t feel as anxious now but it’s there in the back of my mind still. But thank you for hanging around talking to me

much appreciated

I'm sorry, I got called out a bit, but I'm still here. I'm glad you were able to call someone, I hope you're starting to feel better
