Hi I'm elyse and I'm 27, I had my first panic attack 10 months ago, I was just sitting on the couch watching tv then all of a sudden I went very dizzy got up to get a drink of water then all of a sudden I couldn't breath and my heart was going so fast, I honestly thought I was going to die, my mum and partner took me up the emergency, and they told me a was having a panic attack, I was so confused and was like WHAT??? I went to the doctor and had tests done and they told me a have anxiety, so with that I was on google a lot...I went to Thailand in October last year ( got engaged ) and all my symptoms seems to go away.
Ive been on medication since January.
I thought I was getting better but the last month I've been a mess, keep getting this heavy head feeling, like a tight band is around my head, can't concentrate, and just tired all the time, It's so frustrating. I'm not depressed but this head thing is making my feel depressed.. Just get very emotional about it. My partner doesn't understand which makes it very hard.. Just want it to go away. I've had a mental health plan done for me but just need to make that phone call to make an appointment!!!!
Any feedback would be great, just to hear im not alone!

It can be quite "normal" in anxiety terms to have these bouts go away and then come back again. Can you pinpoint anything that has changed in the last month in your life?

You are not alone El@10. I have been through many of these episodes and you do feel like your dying at that time and it can last anytime from 5min to 12 hrs or so. Ive been to the docs and did a mental health plan. im yet to hear about an appointment with a psychologist and psychiatrist so going to be following up on that next week. Please take care and know that you are not alone. xx

dear Elyse, thanks for posting your comment on this site, and what you have said is such a common problem, but even so it's such a degrading feeling and it leaves you as though no one can understand what exactly you are going through, and the applies to having depression.
I do know it can be scary to make this phone call, but please from experience if you don't, then these panic attacks will lead you to depression, and you certainly don't want this nor do we want this to happen to you, because it will only complicated these other issues.
It's a decision that you maybe able to do just on the spur of the moment, and not build yourself up to it, because the more you think about doing it the harder it becomes.
I hope that you can get back to us. L Geoff. x

Thank you for your reply, I made the phone call this morning, I left a MSG on her phone so hopefully she gets back to me by the end of the day, to make an appointment with her!
its just so frustrating, all I want is to feel normal again.
nothing has really happened in the last month for me to be feeling like this, I did get my wedding dress a couple of weeks ago but I was feeling like this before I got it.
The heavy head feeling, and the feeling I've got blocked ears is just annoying, and its hard because my mum and partner not understand what it's like!
ive always thought I had OCD which I no I do, always cleaning the house and making sure the oven is off (all the time) mum says to me Elyse the oven is off, we didn't use it tonight.
lets hope she gets back to me so I can make an appointment with her, as its been a big step for me to make that phone call as I had the mental health plan done about 4 months ago.

Yes its a good idea to follow up with your doc on whats happening as often they re either too busy or let these things go. I'm going to be calling mine on monday as i haven't heard anything from my doc or psychiatrist and am sick of waiting while i feel like this. I thought ive had OCD as well as every night im always checking the locks on the doors a certain amount of times b4 going to bed and just doing little rituals around the house which aren't really that necessary. Hope you get ur phone call back soon 🙂
