Hi Everyone,
Was wondering if anyone else has issues with their memory, brain zaps and reading when they are feeling anxious?
I feel like I forget how to spell, or forget things I should know. Sometimes I'll be reading and read the sentence wrong, or be reading and have to read it again cause I didn't understand what it said.
I also have sort of light headed, dizzy spells.
Today for example I am tired, and I feel like I'm not reading well and I have a tense feeling in my head.
These symptoms appear when I'm tired and then they make me anxious and so the symptoms get worse.
I was wondering if this happens to other people too (it would be really reassuring if it did!).

Hi CW,
So frequently! It started for me when I came off an anti-depressant and was absolutely horrible for about 6 weeks. Now it just happens when I'm either really tired or I'm hungover. It's like my brain gets stuck trying to process a thought and my brain explodes. Most unpleasant feeling. Glad I'm not the only one!

Hi Chicken Wings,
I feel like this a lot of the time, even when I'm not particularly anxious. I sometimes have trouble remembering what I did 10 minutes ago and processing anything takes longer than it used to. It makes me feel pretty stupid.

Hi Chicken Wings.
While the symptoms you have described may well be connected with anxiety it would be unwise to assume that they are without further investigation. If you’re at all concerned I suggest that you see your GP. They can do a thorough examination and follow-up the likely causes with tests.
People online do not know your age or even your name. Do not rely on an online forum for your health advice.
I’m not having a go at anyone who has replied and are trying to help. This is a great place to find out information on how people deal with anxiety and depression but if you have any concerns at all about your physical health please make an appointment with your GP.
Cheers
Dean

Whilst it is important to seek professional help Dean, I assume the purpose of this thread was to connect with others and to share their experiences. From all the replies on this thread many have had similar experiences and it all seems to be related to anxiety. To everyone that has replied in this thread, you are not alone!
Just recent as yesterday I wrote a sentence and read it shortly afterwards to realise that I had missed writing down a word. It wasn't due to me feeling tired.
