For a few months I've been experiencing anxious symptoms from tightness in the chest to rapid breathing, Which I have experienced before through panic attacks and stress, but the biggest problem I'm having is feeling exhausted and zoned out with a big dose adrenaline fueling my body/brain. It feels as if I'm walking around on auto pilot but also like I'm going a million miles all day/night. I'm also noticing a hightened level of emotions from happy to sad to angry and they can get erratic at times peaking randomly. I feel as though so much is happening in me and I'm not catching up or vis versa. Which then makes me feel overwhelmed.
I do work in retail and with these times I understand that could be urging these anxious feelings but am I alone in feeling like this? Is anybody else feeling this anxious, energised and exhausted feelings mashed together?

Hi Trexemillion,
Welcome to the forums. I think there are many, many people here on the forum (myself included) who can relate to what you are describing– the physical symptoms of anxiety in your chest, racing thoughts, and heightened emotions.
As you say, these are especially tense times, and I think a lot of people can relate to the mashup of exhaustion and keyed-up energy you describe. I would encourage you to see your GP and mention this to them, because they can refer you to a psychologist who can provide some more specific guidance, if you feel comfortable doing that.
In any case, we are always here for you on the forums!
Warmly,
Gems

Hi,
I can relate to these symptoms a lot, I experienced all of them and more when I had my run-in with Health Anxiety last year. I can especially relate to that feeling of being spaced out and tired, but also energetic at the same time due to all the adrenaline going through my body. I also experienced that sort of 'auto-pilot' feeling, it felt like I was constantly inside my own head too busy thinking and worrying about stuff, and my body was on auto-pilot. I even disassociated from time to time, which is where your mind and body seem disconnected, almost as if you're watching yourself in the third person.
You are not alone in feeling the way you do, everything you described can be and probably is caused by anxiety, stress, and the constant supply of adrenaline in your body caused by this anxiety and stress.
All the best.
