over the past 5 months I had this feeling of someone watching me in my home, mainly at night time occasionally during the day, I hear noises all the time of footsteps in the roof but nobody is up there. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t sleep even a wink on some nights. It was only happening at my home but has begun to happen when I sleep over at my boyfriends house to where I feel like someone is watching me through the window. Does anyone else have any similar experiences and know why this is happening? Thank you

Hi Phi,
Have you mentioned to your boyfriend? I used to hear similar sounds and realised some possums were in my roof so that feeling of being watched or having a presence nearby your home could even be some animals in the neighbourhood? If it makes you feel safer you could get one of those sensor lights set up around your home so a light automatically comes on if anything is nearby?

One of the many teachings I received from my therapist way back in 1987 was to distinguish between what is realistic and what is not realistic.
Intrusive thoughts need treatment imo and that will put a stop to these fears and anxiety.
Your GP is a good start.
