Does this sound like anxiety?

Hi everyone,

Just wondered if anyone had any similar experiences to this:

Every few months (at best) and weeks (at worst) I get this really weird feeling... It's hard to describe, but it's as if the world feels like it's not real. It's like everything has been stripped away and I can see how weird everything is... Noises sound different too, kind of dull...

Do you think this is connected to anxiety? After a while, the feeling passes and things go back to normal, but I'd like to know why it happens.

Thanks.

hi Tiny Dancer

i do experience that for me its called dissociation. i was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder as well as anxiety depression and ptsd.

im not too sure what that would be connected too, would you consider speaking to your gp about this and get their advice as well?

Thanks very much! I didn't consider talking to the GP about this because it doesn't really affect me for very long/that much... it's also really hard to describe for people who haven't experienced it. I always just assumed it was connected to my anxiety - a way of mentally checking out maybe...

Thanks again for sharing your experiences and wishing you the best in your journey

Does having dissociation have to happen often for you to go to the gp about it, because I’ve felt that and during that time it’s as though I could really care less about things like, it’s the worst because I kind of brush off the feelings of my friends/room mates if I’m in that emotional state and I don’t feel it at the time but I notice it
