Can't sleep

Hey,

Can't seem to switch the brain off. It's not just the brain it is my whole body. So tired and as soon as i lie down it is like everything is magnified. Small sounds in the room. The light from the charger. The small itch on my leg. The stray hair on my neck. Its too hot. Its too cold. I get so fustrated i want claw at my face and scream.

I can't sleep next to someone cause i toss and turn till finally (after a long time) i sleep. If i do sleep next to someone all i can think of is that I can't move, to the point where i want to panic cause i so badly need to move.

I get myself so worked up. Soooo i get up and try to reset. I will habe another shower. Change pjs. Brush my hair. Remake my bed. Get a cold drink and try again. This i found is the most effective way to get to sleep

Tonight however just not working for me.

Hi Miss Bear. I totally understand. When we are dealing with Anxiety, in all its forms, sleep can sometimes seem like an impossibility.

You may find the following thread helpful however. I suggest you have a read of it as there will no doubt be a few ideas and tips to help you. We are all different, but this thread has lots of contributors meaning there is a wide cross section of input. I hope you find something that helps you.

Here is the thread - copy and paste it onto your browser and it should take you straight to the first page:

hello missbear, I know the feeling.....I had the same problem before I started meds again. But since I'm on meds i can fall a sleep nicely and have much better sleeps.

but some meds are actually prevents you from sleeping, so it depends on what type.

Are you on meds? if not, maybe you can talk to GP about it. If you are on meds then maybe change it to another one with more sedative effect.

My best wishes and hugs

Sola

I am on meds. I tried a few before this one and they didn't work for me. I am reluctant to change. They work well everywhere else.

Just so fustrated.

Hello MissBear, sometimes people take a combination of 2 different type of medication, one for during the day for depression (taken in the morning) and one for the the night for sleeping and anxiety (taken in the evening).

Psychiatrists are more experienced with meds, so maybe it's worth getting a referral from GP. You shouldn't suffer like this and you don't have to put up with being frustrated. Sleep is very important for wellbeing and is often underestimated.

My thoughts are with you,

hugs from Sola
