I just joined, I'm feeling really anxious. I can't type properly and I'm having a flip out, I had a panic attack, and have to look after this place I'm volunteering, I'm the only one here but I'm trying not to have another screaming fit and I can't talk to the customers properly, there's only me here but I keep having breaks to cry and scream, I've got autism and the people are hard enough to talk to when I'm not anxious now I'm crying in front of all of them and I have to keep the place open I don't know what to do

Hi Alex;
It seems you're in quite a state and need urgent support. This reply comes 4 hrs after you posted so it may be too little too late I'm afraid. To make sure you're safe and supported at work, try having a Crisis Response Plan to ensure you have someone to call if it happens again ok.
Having autism makes facing challenges harder. I get this, but it's not something that can't be dealt with. There's plenty of organisations that can help you gain confidence and learn coping techniques. I hope you're ok with asking for help in your community.
I'm wondering if you have an employment or NDIS/disability case worker to turn to. If so, this is a good issue to raise at your next appointment. There's no shame in feeling the things you've experienced. You just weren't prepared for it to happen out of the blue.
Take care ok, and come back to chat if you need to. I'm here most days, but probably won't get straight back to you as there's time delays between posts. I hope everything turned out reasonably ok considering the severity of your emotions. I wish you well..
You're a very courageous person to reach out as you have, so congratulations and well done!
Talk soon;
Sez

Hi Alex and welcome to BB
Well done on reaching out for extra supports. i am wondering if you have any offline supports like your gp, psychologist, psychiatrist, friends, family?
Also would you consider speaking to your co-ordinator/boss that your not coping on your own or the workload may be too much for you at this point in time?
For extra supports you can also call:
Beyond Blue 1300 22 4636
You speak to a qualified MH worker and they can help you to work through your anxiety and give you some more tips faster than what we can here on the forums
again welcome, and feel free to keep talking here
