Has anyone had any experience with acupressure to help with anxiety? Just wondering if it is effective? And if so is it something you do on yourself or do you go to somewhere for it (like acupuncture)?

Hi Queen Diamond,
I have not tried this myself, but had a friend who found acupuncture very helpful for her depression and anxiety. She went to a place to have it done.
If you do give this a try, maybe you could let us all know how it benefits you, it might be something another person can try.
Thanks for your post!
Cheers from Lauren

Hi there Q.D.
I actually haven’t heard about this for the relief or treatment of anxiety, but it is intriguing to say the least.
I’ve had acupuncture in the past for sports injuries and so with your final question, I would be seeking out someone who does it professionally, as I would suspect you’d want someone who knows what they’re doing.
Would love to hear any follow up from you on this.
Kind regards
Neil

Hi guys;
Thank you for your replies. I have seen a few things online for acupressure where you apply firm pressure to certain points (meridian?). I think I would rather acupressure as opposed to acupuncture as the thought of needles in my body is a bit scary! I did try one of the acupressure techniques recommended for anxiety which seemed the 'safest' being massaging your ears which was very relaxing indeed!

Hi Again,
It is really amazing how the body is all connected. There are cultures who use so many different techniques and ways of healing the body that we are jut not very familiar with.
If rubbing your ears help, then I certainly can see no harm in that at all.
Like Neil mentioned, if you are seeking some acupuncture, seeing a professional is best for that. I had acupuncture treatment years ago for a back injury. I didn't really noticed the feeling of the needles.
I have heard from a friend that these days the needles are so fine, she doesn't feel them at all. It is just the thought of it that turns me off now!
The more we research and try new ways to assist ourselves, the better our lives will be!
So thanks again for sharing, I will be interested to learn more!
Cheers for now from Lauren
