Hi everyone, This section of the forum is a little different to the others, as you may have noticed in looking around the threads. Elsewhere on the forums, we discuss some pretty heavy topics: mental health issues, thoughts of suicide, trauma, abuse, relationship breakdowns. Here is the place to come to get away from that and have a bit of fun. Distraction can be an important tool to draw on if you're finding yourself overwhelmed by distressing thoughts and feelings. As this is a section for respite from difficult topics, we will remove posts made in this section that attempt to discuss personal issues. Please use a support thread in the appropriate section for these discussions. Happy posting!

Hello to you all from me ... This is my first post and it feels like a good place to start, as I am really soooo tired of ‘my stuff.’ Sometimes there seems to be no end to one part of it in particular. As I’m a newbie I think I’ve misunderstood how this all works and most of this post I’ve put in a reply to White Knight, so I’m starting again Croix might not know about The Legend of 1900 but I do. I’ve got it on DVD and last saw it a long time ago. I must watch it again - it is a great movie Does anyone else ever think to themselves “no one thinks like I do, no one understands ... “ ? I do, but online recently I came across someone who does think like me, but unfortunately we don’t know each other . This is some of what I read ... ”I find myself lost in admiration for the things human beings can build. The urban landscape is an incredibly complex combination of architecture, engineering and science. Where has the mysterious human mind come from? Things like giant gravity defying bridges and skyscrapers amaze me. Buildings in cities have lifts moving up and down inside them, and electricity and water flowing through pipes in the walls. Every room has machines and appliances running on this electricity. People are in these rooms communicating with others across the world on their computers. Jets fly across the sky and cars fill the roads, stopping and starting at traffic lights run by computers. All of the building materials that make a city are taken out of the Earth. By some sort of magic concrete, bricks, steel and glass are sculpted into all sorts of interesting shapes. For millions of years the night was dark on this planet but now it is alive with colour and light. Cities are visible from space in this age. Everything from the smallest house to the most massive skyscraper has been dreamt up and designed by a person, engineered by someone else and then constructed by a builder. If you were born one thousand years ago you could never have imagined what this modern world be like. The story of our civilisation amazes me and ... “. Very eloquent words by the writer don’t you think ? Celebrity news and reality tv doesn’t cut it for me. Where are the people who think like the writer of these eloquent words ? Are you out there in this forum ? bye for now everyone

Yes, I confess, besides being a golfer, I’m also a cricket tragic. I blame my Dad for this, always having the radio broadcast on when I was a child - I used to think how boring is this (those were Test Matches back in the day). Then I discovered that Women’s Cricket existed, and started playing, then I got hooked. I watched during those awful times when we got smashed by everyone, in particular the West Indies and their fearsome quicks. I rejoiced when Alan Border put a bit of backbone into the Aussies. Then we went on a bit of a golden run, with some fabulous players. Now, here we are in 2017, women are being paid well to play, and our Male teams are an “interesting” collection of characters. Have it away with your thoughts and comments, if the spirit moves you cheers M Anyway, with The Ashes series underway, I wondered if there was anyone else who shared an interest First Test at the Gabba, looks like the Aussies are going to smash it, thanks to yet another creative Steve Smith innings. Mind you, bit disappointed in the pitch that was presented
