Hi is anyone here interested in a group for pop culture chat such as sci fi/fantasy movies, comic book movies, tv shows, comic books, anime, anything that popular?

Hi Holt,

Reading your post and seeingI that noone had replied yet made me wonder if the topic is a bit broad, what do you think?

Do you think if you shared a bit about what you're enjoying at the moment others might find it easier to know what to say?

There are also quite a few existing threads in the social zone about books and movies which you might enjoy posting in. Anyone is allowed to post on an old thread if they want to talk on that topic again. The benefit is it includes members who have already shown an interest.

On the note of interest... Yep I love fantasy and science fiction in all forms. It helps me a lot to escape from reality at times and sometimes the societies depicted are so different in a positive way. Must admit I rely on a happy ending though. My husband has a lot of David Gemmel books for example which I enjoy but are often triggering.

Do you have any suggestions you want to share?

Hi,
I totally agree they do help us to escape but a happy ending is definitely the way forward.
I'm a big Harry Potter fan and love reading the books and watching the movies.
I went to see The Cursed Child early last year and it was awesome.
I'm also a big fan of the MCU and I'm looking forward to the next movie which I'm pretty sure is Black Widow.
I was so depressed after Endgame , just the whole coming to an end, and can only watch it when I'm in a good place.
The DC movies are good but I don't find them as funny or lighthearted as the MCU. Shazam was great and I hope they make more like this. Really looking forward to Wonder Woman.

i never read much hp as a kid, like the philosophers stone and halfway through chamber of secrets. when i was twelve i had a hard rule of “classmates that are excessively proud of being slytherins are classmates to avoid”. maybe i’d read it again but im still getting back into the habit of reading after a really bad episode, seven-book series arent for me rn and rowling leaves a distressingly bad taste in my mouth after her uh. many twitter and pr stunts

you know what ya bull i read as a kid? i was a goddamn warrior cats kiddie back when i was a ten year old and thought it was the absolute peak of literature. it took me until i was thirteen to realise it's just a publishing company trying to wring as many books as they can out of ghostwriters and how the books are filled with flaws and yet i cannot forget warrior cats. i cannot hear how long by charlie puth on the radio without my daydreams creating an elaborate amv about cheater crowfeather i hate hearing about how the sky went dark after crucifixion because it makes me think of the atheist rogue who just managed to guess an omen that made an entire clan break down because he was frustrated he wasn’t cool. i hate the kitty kats that kill each other and they will never leave me.

my brother is big on the mcu and loves wrangling me to whatever new movie’s out. he got a tony stark pop figure for chrissy, yeah? and its still sealed in its box because it has more value that way. one time on a nine hour flight i saw him watching endgame. two and a half times over and the half is from when the takeoff/landing procedures cut him off and its not like, tony dying or whatever its watching a three hour movie nearly three times

uhh some of my faves are ragnarok, winter soldier, the guardians movies because i have terrible taste and wish this 80s pandering duology to be as deep as i imagine it and captain marvel but mostly because i feel something embarrassing for larson and everything that isn’t the “mostly” is me going braindead when i see goosey because i spontaneously combust in proximity of a cat

also a whole thread about pop culture? i feel like thats too nebulous. maybe seperate threads on books, tv, movies, w/e but i bet if you go digging down here youll find many threads like that. im not one for thread necro myself though so i usually lay off old threads
