Hi Hanna,
thanks for the kind words. I went for drive , just to get of the house for couple of hours. I'm doing okay, went out for a drive, just to get out of the house. I think I will go shortly and do some channel (TV) surfing.
And give your dog a hug from me, I'm sure he will appreciate it today. He looks like a happy dog. Look after yourself too.

Hey Everyone and Hanna....CMF....Silvalady...Katy...Moon x....Matchy....Paws
So what is everyone doing for New Years Eve?
Quiet?......Loud? or looking after your dogs with all the 'illegal' fireworks happening? Excluding the ACT where I think they are still legal...Can anyone correct me on this?
Me thinks that many of us will be happy to have Christmas behind us!.....Hi Moon 😉
my kindest always

My Christmas was as enjoyable as I'd hoped. Actuslly, it was a tough week in many ways
Oh well, yes, thank God it's over.
NYE I think will be a quiet one at M's. Last year was a party, I think this year may be just us and the kids.
Either way, I think the new decade may bring changes, hopefully positive.
Thx for runing this thread Paul and to all who contributed.

I'm new here. I'm anxious about Nye. I was really looking forward to it but then over indulged on Christmas night and have been recovering for 4 days now. Fine physically but emotionally and mentally not.
I'll be with a group of friends who are lots of fun and great company. I'm just worried tgat I'll have too much to drink again and end up feeling terrible again.
I've considered not drinking at all but I know that will make me hate the night and want to leave early. So I'm setting myself a limit. Does anyone else here struggle with knowing what their limits are? I can go for weeks without drinking but when I'm at a party I just don't seem to know when to stop. I think it must be because I feel awkward.
I've decided that wine and champagne are off the menu for me and I'm gonna take some bottles of lemon, lime and bitters and alternate with cocktails.
Sorry if this a bit too heavy for in here.
Marie.

Yes Yes Birthday Boy (Paul)......one of us is exactly that...Happy to have Xmas behind us.....yes yes, I am delirious with the sense of freedom....the TV ads that linger on finishing up their contracts just look so Ridiculous now!!! It's all over...oh joy...oh yes....no demanding that I be happy happy happy.....(actually I usually cope quite OK through October and November until society DEMANDS it of me every December.....)
NYE poses no threat for me...I quite love it ...a nice "wrap it up and tie it with a ribbon" sort of feeling...not only the year is over...but the decade!! I enjoy the symbolism of the occasion....old year out, let's have the New One in!! And if you live on the Gold Coast, you can have it twice!! Just jump across the border between Coolangatta and Tweed Heads and have another champagne.....Happy New Year Everyone!!!!

Hi Everyone,
New Years here is lovely & peaceful, no idiots with fireworks like where I used to live.
If the weather is cool enough on Tuesday I hope to drive into the larger town (45 min away ) & buy Woofa a big juicy bone & myself some munchies (plus some grocery shopping). We can then spend the evening relaxing, I'll be watching a dvd or reading with my munchies & he can chew away on his bone.
Hope everyone has an enjoyable New Year

Hi Quirky....always a treat to read your posts!
Ditto here....New Years Eve seems to have similar parallels to Christmas where high expectations are concerned and thus we shrug it off as another night which is spot on...I used to be on the forums from 11ish to 12am on the forums.....Me thinks that someone else can do it this year lol
Just for myself....I try to make it a good night by playing heaps of '80's music including 12" Extended mixes....as loud as possible..until the care factor dissipates and I go to bed usually before the clock strikes midnight 😉
I am fortunate to have very good neighbors
