🌱 Diary- 5 Things You Noticed in Nature Today

Guest_1055

Can you think of 5 things you noticed or observed in nature today, using all your senses?

I was wondering if this would be a beneficial exercise to help us focus on something else instead of painful emotions, troubled thoughts, over thinking, anxiety feelings and the darkness of that alone place.

As well as to see that there really is beauty all around us....

Hi Shelley Anne.

I Managed to sit on my veranda last week for around 5 minutes but didn't really absorb nature my mind was to busy fighting with itself to go back inside.

I am going to try again tomorrow. I want to be able to relax my mind and feel, taste and see what your seeing.

I used to spend nearly all day outside until this sickness to over.. I want that old me back again.

l finally got into a new house after divorce , well actually it;s a really old house and renovators delight but eh, we won't talk about that.

So l've put in lots of new trees this last 6mths, just seedlings but it was amazing to see them sprouting again suddenly , just this last wk.

Nature just working away. They know it's spring , right on time and they've just like turned back on like a clock. pretty cool.

Hi Karen,

Yes it is a bit more challenging to really allow the sounds, tastes, what you hear and the feel of nature or creation in, when our minds are so loud or even our hearts overwhelmed with painful emotions etc.

But sitting out on your verendah is great, well I think so. Your body is breathing in the fresh air, and that is good.

I wonder if you could just see if you could notice one thing. Maybe the feel of the warmth of the sun on your face.? It's worth a try...

That is what I am feeling right now. I am sitting outside in the backyard, soaking in some sunshine. I can feel its warmth on my face, though it's tricky to type on this iPod to you as it's a bit glarey.

Now there are some very loud bird noises. They are coming from the collection of trees around here. Beautiful ...

And have you ever tried just writing all that stuff out that is currently in your mind just to sort of dump it onto a piece of paper? Maybe it would free your mind or something....

Standing tall and looking up into the open sky helps me at times too. Just physically force your body to look up. It is amazing what you can see up there and it's so huge the sky.

May you feel better soon and the sun is still shining here.

Hello random,

It is exiting watching seedlings grow. I planted a collection of veggie seedlings about 3 -4 weeks ago. Every morning when I water them I look at them. I am only a beginner veggie planter. The radish seems to be growing the fastest.

And oldish houses... some have so much history and character. It is like they have a story to tell or a story of perhaps the previous owners.

This morning when I was eating breakfast outside I:

1... heard all the birds chattering away as they were waking up for the day.

2... I saw a small red radish popping up just above the soil. I am not sure if that is supposed to happen or not.

3.... I tasted the earthy taste porridge.

4.... I felt the warmth of the sun on my face and also the crunchy texture of chia seeds in my mouth. I had them on the porridge.

5.... I smelt next doors cooking. Bacon I believe. Its scent was wafting over the back fence.

Hi Shell , how you doin today. Fantastic about the veggies , it's gonna be exiting in a few wks when you see your work turn into beautiful fresh new life and all growing away like magic.

. l've been wondering if l might make my very first veggie garden too . My ex use to grow them but l never have.

Funny about the house , yeah , l'm a bit chicken to find out too much about it;s history tbh but l sometimes think about it and hope it was a good one.

There's this old man walks past here few times a wk ,my guess he's probably been walking that walk 50yrs maybe a lot more , so all l'd have to do is talk to him one day and l'm pretty sure he would've seen the houses life. Dunno if l'm game though haha.

Enjoy that garden eh.

Hello Everyone,

I have been spending quite a bit of time in the garden recently mainly weeding, sometimes trying to be aware of all that is around me.

I discovered a couple of young baby stumpy tailed lizards, after weeding their patch, I tried to replicate their home and put them back in the same place.

I unearthed four frogs about the size of 50 cent pieces also while pulling up grass, they were so docile, not yet ready to be awake!

Seeing a vast variety of spiders was creepy and interesting at the same tome.

Listening to the different bird calls brought happiness to my soul.

Spending time with our borrowed sheep is always calming for me as well. They all have their own character and charm.

Hi everyone,

I am quite new but finding my way through the threads bit by bit

Yesterday (as I haven't left the house yet today...)

1. heard the parrots screaming as one in the tree by my house

2. watched the clouds roll peacefully by, and tried to let my thoughts drift away too

3. tasted the warmth of my earl grey tea (does this have to be nature too? I don't tend to taste nature much haha, do veggies count?)

4. smelt spring on the wind

5. felt the sun and people's energies in the park warm me up from the inside out

I had a tricky day yesterday (ad side effects) but also witnessed a beautiful spring afternoon. It is strange to be around so many joyful people when you feel so grey.

Five things I have seen today...

1. A pile of white bougainvillea bracts in a blue basket that the kids ripped off for me.

2. A flame tree seedling emerging in it's pot.

3. A huntsman spider on my shoe as I carried it outside.

4. A bright red flower on the coral tree in it's pot.

5. The deliciate scent of the stock in my front garden bed.

Hi randomx,

If I was feeling bold I properly would ask that elderly man that walks past your house.

And yes it is exciting these vegetables. I have already picked and sliced up cute pink radishes to put in a salad. Mmm so crunchy. And I have picked baby spinach leaves several times now to juice up. More leaves then just keep growing on these plants. And also the cos lettuce leaves have been picked for salads as well. And no bunnies are munching on these as they cannot reach the plants. Good...good...good
