🌱 Diary- 5 Things You Noticed in Nature Today

Guest_1055

Can you think of 5 things you noticed or observed in nature today, using all your senses?

I was wondering if this would be a beneficial exercise to help us focus on something else instead of painful emotions, troubled thoughts, over thinking, anxiety feelings and the darkness of that alone place.

As well as to see that there really is beauty all around us....

This morning, early frost could be seen only in the hollows. I watched the sun coming up from behind surrounding mountains.

I could actually feel my hands as I got on with outdoors chores.

I couldn't resist burying my nose in a clump of jonquils, breathing in the entrancing scent.

Sitting on the verandah, savouring a hot chocolate in the sun felt like a blessing.

Watching the natural world busily go by, listening to a blend of currawong calls and the screech of squabbling galahs.

Today I hugged a gnarled yet smooth in parts gum tree.

I watched two lorikeets eat seeds from a bird feeder.

I saw a Shetland pony rub itself in dirt.

A sulphur crested cockatoo squawking

two ducks looking for snails

Quirky

That will do me Quirky

I was going to try again but I enjoyed 5 things that much I just wanted to sit with them.

Today I noticed I was beginning to regain a sense of taste after being unwell. Different foods actually tasted different. Nice...

I saw wattle buds slowly beginning to take shape.

I heard the scrape of an echidna's claws as it was attempting to dig itself into the dirt road.

Early morning, I sat a while in a sunny spot, feeling warmth slowly dissipating the chill in my bones.

I smelled the fragrance of pine resin while burning a few dead branches in an improvised bonfire.

I am sorry you have been unwell Star. The echidna sounds cute.

Today....

I tasted the tangy lemon in a green juice I freshly juiced.

I heard the noise of a young magpie standing across from me on a seat.

I definetly felt the coldness of the wind as I got the clothes of the line.

I smelt a nutmeg scent in someone's tea.

I saw the tiny leaves blowing in the wind from a nearby tree.

I tasted my nan when I made her slice today

I heard all those lorikeets playing in the tress

yes I felt that wind, must be snowing somewhere

I smelt my hubby's fart(not good)

I saw baby ducks today (love it ,mine will be near)

Thank you

That was beautiful and poetic. I saw the most amazing sky this morning....patted my glorious dog and walked through the Rocks

Hi everyone I'm fairly new here..I was browsing through when I came accross this thread.

My goodness I read them all with fascination and teared up quite a lot.

IIt's been a long time since I have been able to go outside and look at nature.. reading these has made me want to see, feel and taste all you are experiencing..

This is something I will definitely try and do tomorrow.

Hi Ggrand, hope you are okay there..

Today while I was sitting outside.

1... I tasted the greenness , apple and slightly lemon flavour of this fresh juice I was drinking.

2... I watched for a long time this magpie getting grubs insects or whatever it found in the grass. I also saw him limp along , it must have injured its leg.

3.... I heard the rustling of the leaves on nearby trees, as it was quite windy in the area I was sitting

4.... I felt the wisps of my hair on my face, as it blew across my face.

5 .... Mmm I smelt the scent of spring.
