Can you think of 5 things you noticed or observed in nature today, using all your senses?

I was wondering if this would be a beneficial exercise to help us focus on something else instead of painful emotions, troubled thoughts, over thinking, anxiety feelings and the darkness of that alone place.

As well as to see that there really is beauty all around us....

Hi to everyone. I am wondering through threads and thought I would participate. I spent most of my day inside so atm this is a stretch lol,

  1. Cool breeze on a muggy day,
  2. Incredible light show from tonight's storm
  3. The noisy cracking of thunder
  4. Nats (aka storm bugs) flying around
  5. Finally, my newest apple tree enjoying the rain this evening bought in.

Thank you, Franka 🐳🐢

Hey Folks!

Today I noticed...

1)...that it was uncomfortably hot.

2)...that I needed to slow down.

3)...that I needed to enjoy the walk.

4)...that when I relaxed I felt more grounded.

5)...the sound of thunder and lighting smashing and crashing above.

Wet It Rains It Pours!

I'm grateful for the break in the weather.

Hey there Franka, don't you just love that a nice cool breeze after you have lived through a day of heat? Or even a thunderstorm after a hot hot day. Hi Kaitoa, you sound a little down or something, are you okay?

Well today I noticed:

1.... And one could not miss them, tons and tons of Christmas beetles on our front porch tonight. Ah the light was left on...

2....I felt the breeze coming of the ocean when I went for a walk

3...I smelt a fresh lot of mulch in two very large piles near some public gardens as we walked past.

4....I tasted just a ity bity bunch of grapes.

5....and I heard that ping noise as the beetles hit the walls on the porch. Poor things

Hi Shell,

Yes - I am fine now.

That's how I WAS feeling when I went for my walk with Bundy.

I dont get on too well with the heat...I'm a Kiwi after all, and I quite like much cooler weather.

Moving to Melbourne, will be good for me.

Just very eager for the move, that's all.

Thank you for checking though, Shell.

I genuinely appreciate that!.

Oh you are most welcome Kaitoa! Are you in Queensland or the outback somewhere then?

We're in QLD. We live in a beautiful older home, but with no air con, it gets really hot inside.

I am thankful for cool showers, oscillating fans, and ice-blocks!

Glad to read that you had a cool breeze from the ocean come through, to cool you down.

Definitely agree about the cold showers there Kaitoa! And yeah the breeze of the ocean can feel so good after a hot or muggy day. Especially if it is a cool and refreshing breeze. Love the wind in my hair too. Nice and free.....

Morning Shelley. Refreshing sea breeze during your walk sounds great.

Kaitoa - I'm with you, cant handle the heat at all. And I'm not even a Kiwi! We dont have air conditioning at our house either. Wish we did. Although the last 2 days have been a little cooler after a few very hot days.

My 5 things for today:

  1. I saw the sun rise
  2. I heard the birds singing
  3. I felt the beautiful cool morning air
  4. I tasted the bitter flavour of a grape from my vine running along the deck - yuk, not ripe yet!
  5. I smelt the fragrence of basil in the garden

Hey Folks!

I love the smell of fresh basil, TS! Nice one.

Today I noticed...

1)...the sound of a plane flying above...

2)...the sound of lorikeets chattering busily...

3)...the sound of tradies doing their tradie thing (some very cute tradies too, might I add!)...

4)...the soft sound of gentle rain on the tree leaves...

5)...the sound of bacon sizzling ( one of the flatmates was cooking his breakfast, when I came home from my walk with Bundy)...

I really like this thread, Shell, so thank you for facilitating it...it's a nice game that I like to play as I'm going about by day - So, what can I notice, now?...

It's great to come back and read what others notice too!
