🌱 Diary- 5 Things You Noticed in Nature Today

Can you think of 5 things you noticed or observed in nature today, using all your senses?

I was wondering if this would be a beneficial exercise to help us focus on something else instead of painful emotions, troubled thoughts, over thinking, anxiety feelings and the darkness of that alone place.

As well as to see that there really is beauty all around us....

With my 5 senses I :

1... saw a baby magpie just walking across the concrete in an undercover car park

2... tasted icy chilled water

3... smelt the aroma of fresh mangoes

4... felt the wind in my hair

5... heard next doors dogs barking over the back fence

Evening all!

I love the smell of fresh mango Shell...nice one!.

Today I noticed...

1)...A car with reindeer horns.

2)...The squawking of crows flying above.

3)...A tree full of Golden Orb Spiders.

4)...The sweet scent of Frangipani.

5)...A really cute guy noticing me noticing him, and smiling back at me!.

This morning, I was privileged to witness the emerging of a cicada from its chrysalis. A slow, difficult process, like all births and rebirths.

It paused a while to recover and catch its bearings then took off for a first clumsy, noisy flight. It took a nose dive in a nearby clump of high grass and struggling, became trapped at the bottom of tangled stems.

I reached through the grass, caught an earthy whiff of damp soil. I felt the scrape of the cicada's feet against my palm. Heard and felt the vibration of its attempted escape from a loose fist.

I released it in a more open space watched it crawl some way up a tree trunk and wished it good luck.

On the way back indoors, I picked and chewed a bright orange nasturtium flower and chewed on a couple of caper tasting green pods.

Starwolf that would've been a cool sight to see...the cicada...nice one!.

Today I noticed...

1) --- 1 Full Moon.

2) --- 12 Bright Stars.

3) --- 8 Houses with Christmas Decorations.

4) --- Two screaming babies.

5) --- One guy that looked like Gandalf The Wizard.

...but no partridge in a pear tree!...

Five things I have already noticed for the 1st January 2017.

1.... I heard some birds making a noise just after the cracking off of fire crackers.

2....I saw a lost dog on a lead, that some people asked us if it was ours.

3.... I smelt the linger of the scent of freshly baked choc chip cookies in our kitchen.

4.... yummy.... tasted some black grapes.

5....felt the arms of someone in a hug

This is a good tip i found my afternoon rwlaxing didnt even relise it but this 5 things a day sound great to me

I smelt my roses

watched baby magpies learning how to fly with my kids

Watched the clouds flowing round while enjoyingthe nice breeze

Listened to the pups playing felt the nice lush green lawn under my feet

Listened to my kids having fun with water

So today was a very hot day here but by saying so the sun works at least


Five things about today


I notice the frogs enjoying a swim in the pond


How the baby goats play on the logs


Listened to the leaves russell in the wind


Felt the wind in my hair


smelt fresh picked tomatos from my garden


With this great idea i am noticing ​thing i never would have paying attention to nature is relaxing my mind so well i can acturlly smile again

The smell of fresh picked tomatoes, mmmm, love that scent.

Am feeling so much better this 5 things thing is helping me feel alot better i am noticing things i normally wouldnt

Love fresh tamatos am spending so much more time in my gardens then i normally would but on another note

5 things for today

I felt the velvet flower peddles on my roses

Smelt the fresh rain

Listened to the crickets in the green grass

felt the smooth skin of my snakes slithering around my arms

Watched the cats running playing and chasing grass hoppers hopping in the green grass

Interesting concept you have not unlike methods used when having an anxiety attack. Which works well I might add.

Today I noticed

1. Trees glistening in fading sunlight

2. A couple taking the dog walking in the park

3. People out power walking after making a better lifestyle resolution

4. Children playing in their front yards

5 People watering their gardens after such hot day

This makes you think about something other than your own thoughts for awhile.
