I'm really trying to feel better about myself

I don't know where to start with this, there's so much in my head right now...

I've got nothing, but my cat...no job, no friends, far from a family priority etc. etc.

My mum died 10 years ago on 26.2 and I still miss her so badly, she was the only person I had who was in my corner. Everyone else (family, friends that currently aren't talking to me) say I play the victim and am all "woe is me"

My sister's said I look like a silverback gorilla and other such things. She's a bully who gets away with it all, because she's the favourite and "normal" (kids, married, no mental illness - although I have doubts about that last one). My dad's called me fat and said that "You're bent like your mother" (she was bipolar). He lives with me and getting him to do anything is such a battle, he doesn't feel like paying the rent, so it's left to me, goes to work when he feels like it, helps my sister with her house but won't with me etc. etc. etc....I could go on and on with them!!

I have a GP and a psychologist that I should go back to (sessions are free and they're within walking distance), but I wonder if it's worth it when my psychologist said me running an instagram account for a celebrity is me living in fantasy land

I won't write any more, because I can't see anyone replying. I've got nothing and nobody and just want to forget...

Hey MF 😊

I will be interested to hear how your garden edging turns out, so please keep us posted.

I know you're not thinking about uni stuff until Monday, (so really I should save this until then ...) but there is a book that i found unbelievably helpful called Strategies For Student Writers by Pam Peters. It's pretty old, but it's really good, I found mine second hand for a few dollars, I would post you my copy if I could!!

Are you rearranging the furniture to change things up in your living room?

Raining here, so it's a blankie and book day for me.

Hey Emmy (or anyone that might know)

Do you have any idea of anywhere I could contact for free advice regarding my (government housing) property in regards to worthwhile renovations etc for resale value etc.

I'm wondering if a bathroom renovation is a worthwhile investment to make, as well as a bit of work on the kitchen. I know they are what sell homes, but for my situation, I have lots of questions.

I can only think of real estate agent or maybe property valuer.

I know I'm thinking REALLY far ahead, but I want to have a plan of attack, so to speak

Hi Narelle. I wouldn’t recommend you do any major works until the place is your own. No point investing money for someone else’s benefit. Do you think there’s an option for you to buy where you are? Once the place is yours i’d do a bit of research online as to what similar houses are selling for renovated or unrenovated. You wouldn’t want to over capitalise.

I wouldn't be buying it until I was working etc. I guess you could call it my 10 year plan or whatever. I'm just at a loss about which way to turn when it comes to buying my first place...

My mum enquired about buying here years ago and was told she could. I'm assuming it wouldn't have changed.

I get in such a tizz when I think about stuff that means spending money...maybe I'm allergic to the spending of cash 🙂

Bugger - hit post too soon again 🙂

I think the most I'd do without buying here is new carpet and lino because its all scummy looking and just yuck. So maybe $5,000 maximum.

I went through my list or researched possible renovations and prioritised them and that was the most expensive without buying this place.

Nice to make plans 🙂 always good to have something to work towards!

Think the best tip for buying is finding the right area you like, then go from there.

Spending money is stressful hey, we’ve just built a house and have recently put in some brick garden beds and a pizza oven - I keep overthinking .. hope we’ve done the right thing, should I have done a cheaper option, did we spend to much lol. It’s a big deal deciding what to spend money on - so you’re not alone in finding it hard.

Would the owner of your house contribute some money toward the carpets?

For Monday...

Without making light of Uni assignments...

It will also depend on the type of course or assignment. But if a essay type assignment then...

You will have a library access which includes access to journals etc. So it is a case of reading, finding answers to the questions posed, writing and fitting the word count.

You should be able to get a book from the Uni also that tells you how to write assignments also.

The real trick is to stick to the point of topic, and not waffle on about nothing.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one Emmy 🙂

I don't think I could get help with the floors, it's likely a tenant expense. I've got rugs in the lounge and bought an outdoor mat ages ago that I'm using in the kitchen. That's all OK for now.

I will rip up the awful constantly damp feeling dining room carpet and see what I'm left with underneath...

I'll be back to thinking about uni stuff this time tomorrow, anyway 🙂

Thanks for the tips smallwolf, I've been thinking for the last hour or so where to start, with my “how to do uni assignments” research.

I'm sure google will have something for the early/pre offer stages...

Here's hoping something sticks 🙂
