Hello,

I thought I would start this thread, about our pets.

I have read in the forums a lot of us has a pet or pets of some kind.

Be it a dog, cat, bird, rabbit, guinie pig, tortoise, snake, lizard etc: they bring joy to our lives, they are there for us giving us unconditional love.

I thought a it would be nice if we could share our pets antics, or if you've seen other animals, doing things that have made you laugh.

They can be funny, loving, outrageous, anything that your pet does or does not do that puts a smile on your face and might put a smile on someone's face that is struggling.

Please keep the stories light hearted and happy,

We all love our pets, let's let others enjoy them as well..

I will go first to get it up and running.

I have two little dogs, Maltese x Yorkshire x Aussie Terriers, I have Mum (4 years old) and Daughter (2years old).

My dogs have the run of the house, my back screen door after many attempts and lots of failures I put a doggie dog into it. I love theses two they are my fur family.

My story is about another dog I had many years ago, I called him boof he was a Belgium Shepard, I was sitting at my kitchen table one day just looking out my back door (creedance). Boof was just relaxing in the shade with my young son. It was a hot day and I thought I might take my young son into the pool. I was about to go outside when all of a sudden a cat ran across our yard, well Boof just took off after the cat yep my young son took off after Boof, then Boof it looked like his brakes stopped working, he was chasing the cat then I saw him slide (son still chasing him). he couldnt stop, he slid into the swimming pool with such force he bent the tin frame nearly flat to the inside of the pool, well a waterfall began, Boof was on the other side of the pool he crashed straight through it, my son ended up slipping on the water skidded to the other end of the pool, crashing and landing on Boofy scream of laughter was coming from my son, absolutely soaked to the skin covered in mud, Boof was trying to get up, slipping all over the place from the mud as well I think he was seeing stars from his hard hit, he couldn't get up. I couldn't stop laughing at the pair of them. They looked so funny covered in mud, the pool was later repaired. Son and dog was hosed off so it all ended well

Do you have a pet story to tell?

Kind thoughts

Grandy.

Thats so cool you have frogs. I have only ever found a baby one once in my garden. I have a problem with jesse and blue tounges, i get alot going along my back fence behind bush rocks i have along there. I rescue them and put them out front when i can but unfortunately there have been a small few fatalities when i haven't got there quick enough😯 My cat brings little skinks inside. I am so glad we dont have skunks here as know full well my dog would get sprayed regularly! I'll never get over the cat in the park it was just so surreal😅 Jesse is a big scavenger and if something is there he will find it but sometimes he does get his wires crossed. On a few occasions hes pulled me to get to what heres thought has been a piece of bread roll which hes picked up and has turned out to be a rock which he quickly puts down. The look on his face is priceless after. He looks at me and very clearly says 'shut up' as im smirking😄

Yes Poppy chases blue tongue lizards too. She thinks they are a toy for her to play with! I also spend a lot of time rescuing them. I think they live under my house as they keep coming back. When I had a cat she used to bring in skinks too and one time I even found one in my bed! I thought they were really cute and rescued as many as I could. Yes am glad we don’t have skunks as there would be lots of very smelly pets around! I worry that Poppy might find a snake and start playing with it. Has Jesse ever found a snake?

I think he saw a snake once on a bush walk along time ago. We were walking along a track and all of a sudden he stopped and started warning barking at me for about 10 seconds and wouldn't let me move. I had no idea at the time what he was on about but awhile later i thought maybe i was about 2 step on a snake. I could be wrong but it sounds plausible. The only other time he warning barked at me was not long after we moved to where i am and we were in a park and he was off lead and the circus came and pulled up 2 vans behind us, all of a sudden jesse ran a distance and started his barking, he has a distinct he means it warn bark to his other barks. He was making a scene and people thought he was being aggressive to me. It took me a few minutes to turn round and realise i was standing in front of a van with lions!!!!!!!!!

I would like to think Poppy Angel would bark to warn me of a snake, but she is so playful I fear she would just want to shake it and paw at it. I guess I need to be careful where I take her. It’s no wonder Jesse was barking at a van full of lions! and great Jesse is so protective of you.

Hello everyone....

As often as I can I like to sit on my front veranda and just sit and watch the antics of the birds 🦅 and cows 🐄 across from me.....Yesterday I was feeling really not in a good headspace and decided that I could do with some grounding so I sat outside on my veranda...Yesterday the cows 🐄 were in the paddock across from me..I sat watching them grazing on the Once green grass, which has turned brown because of the drought in the central West of NSW.

While I was watching the cows 🐄 grazing on the grass, two of them moooed and continued to do so while they were having a battle with their horns..I could hear the horns as they made contact with each other’s....At first I thought they were fighting, until a much bigger bull mooed really loudly, then I realised they were young and just playing around like most children do....After the moo they all followed him to the other side of the property.....then the two younger bulls stopped locking horns and followed the bigger bull as well...

My mind and thoughts as I watched the little fight was only on those two....as the cows moved along..they followed like train carriages in a single line...haha follow the leader...

There is this tree branch that fell a few days ago with heavy wind...One cow reached the tree branch and stopped following the others...along with a few other cows.....They started eating the grass around the area of the fallen tree branch....one cow was wiggling itself in funny ways with the branch..I couldn’t stop watching this cow as it wriggled around the branch...then I seen the cow put it’s head under the lighter part of tree branch and lifted it up a little to be on its side and back...it was now scratching itself with the tree branch....the cow even turned around and scratched the other side and it’s back..then it’s ear and head even got a scratch...it was fascinating to watch...I took a little video of this....This continued for around 5 minutes, the other cows were a fair way away by now...I heard a moo in the distant and the scratchy cow and the other few started to move in the direction of the other cows very slowly....munching on the grass as they were walking..

My dog jesse the same dog as in guest672 is so food obsessed he regularly sees a small bread🍞 piece shaped rock ect and goes to pick it up and then turns and looks at me and says shut up as i giggle.

l was sitting on the porch the other day and this black bird landed on the power line. He had a big feather in his beak for a nest, proud as punch, you could just tell. Birds are that bloody funny, literally little people with feathers. He's sitting on the wire look at me look at me and other birds were taking swipes at him trying to pinch his feather but nope, he's not goin anywhere. He's jumping around and holding that feather up and when no one was trying to steel it he'd jump up and swoop past the other birds and back again, just to remind them of how good he was.

lt went on for 10 minutes and until everyone was just bored and over his feather then he finally flew into the roof where he's nest would be. Talk about a song and dance, cheeky little fella.

Hi randomx i find it funny watching corellas and cockatoos

Hiya helium. yeah they're some of my fav' birds , such characters aren't they.

I used to own two chickens when I was a kid living at our house in the country.

The best thing I've ever seen is a chicken's first encounter with snow. In the morning we'd let them out of the chicken house made out of a converted brick shed. When we opened the door the chickens that we called Lemon and Sponge would bolt out the door past us and run up to our porch to the grain sack for their breakfast.

One winter an inch or two of snow had settled on the ground. Lemon being the bigger hungrier and faster of the two flew out the door first as per usual but having never seen snow before did a surprised double take mid-flight, totally forgot about her landing, and plunged into the snow and proceeded to barrel roll 3 times uncontrollably before crashing into the wooden fence sending a fountain up into the air. Completely baffled and covered in it Lemon look about and bck at Sponge who looked on confused from the edge of the house.

Took a full 5 mins for both of them to realise the world hadn't ended. Took me much longer to stop laughing.
