Hello,
I thought I would start this thread, about our pets.
I have read in the forums a lot of us has a pet or pets of some kind.
Be it a dog, cat, bird, rabbit, guinie pig, tortoise, snake, lizard etc: they bring joy to our lives, they are there for us giving us unconditional love.
I thought a it would be nice if we could share our pets antics, or if you've seen other animals, doing things that have made you laugh.
They can be funny, loving, outrageous, anything that your pet does or does not do that puts a smile on your face and might put a smile on someone's face that is struggling.
Please keep the stories light hearted and happy,
We all love our pets, let's let others enjoy them as well..
I will go first to get it up and running.
I have two little dogs, Maltese x Yorkshire x Aussie Terriers, I have Mum (4 years old) and Daughter (2years old).
My dogs have the run of the house, my back screen door after many attempts and lots of failures I put a doggie dog into it. I love theses two they are my fur family.
My story is about another dog I had many years ago, I called him boof he was a Belgium Shepard, I was sitting at my kitchen table one day just looking out my back door (creedance). Boof was just relaxing in the shade with my young son. It was a hot day and I thought I might take my young son into the pool. I was about to go outside when all of a sudden a cat ran across our yard, well Boof just took off after the cat yep my young son took off after Boof, then Boof it looked like his brakes stopped working, he was chasing the cat then I saw him slide (son still chasing him). he couldnt stop, he slid into the swimming pool with such force he bent the tin frame nearly flat to the inside of the pool, well a waterfall began, Boof was on the other side of the pool he crashed straight through it, my son ended up slipping on the water skidded to the other end of the pool, crashing and landing on Boofy scream of laughter was coming from my son, absolutely soaked to the skin covered in mud, Boof was trying to get up, slipping all over the place from the mud as well I think he was seeing stars from his hard hit, he couldn't get up. I couldn't stop laughing at the pair of them. They looked so funny covered in mud, the pool was later repaired. Son and dog was hosed off so it all ended well
Do you have a pet story to tell?
Kind thoughts
Grandy.

Hi all,
Many years ago, I agreed to temporarily foster a pregnant cat who was rescued from a backyard breeder. One day, when I was having a really bad day and feeling very alone. The mother cat came out from her room and watched me for a while. I was on the sofa crying and did not pay much attention. A few minutes later, I heard a mewing sound near me. Confused I looked around me, at my feet was a tiny kitten!
Little mumma had gone and brought one of her baby kittens to comfort me. It was my favourite kitten out of her litter. Somehow, little mumma seemed to know I needed a friend. I decided to keep little mumma and 2 of her special kittens. All the vet work was done and they eventually became my family.
Sadly, little mumma has passed away, after many years with us. She had naughty habits of chewing cables (headphones, antenna, telephones and even a computer mouse cable) and singing “opera” in the dead of night. Her kittens are still with me more than 10 years later and spoiled. They are double little mumma’s size and keep each other and me company.
Thank you

Hello LKS,
What a really beautiful story, I actually had a few tears in my eyes as I read your story. I think that animals are beautiful creatures that easily pick up on how we're feeling.
Mumma cat must have really loved, and trusted you and was in tune with your sadness, when she gave you a little kitten to comfort you, and you still have two of her little kittens today..How really special mumma used to be, and her kittens are just as special..Thank you very much for sharing such a lovely story...
Does anyone reading have a story about a pet or an animal that you would like to share, it just might put a smile on someone's face who is feeling down,,
Caring thoughts,
Grandy...xx

hi everyone.
Im sitting outside of my home and looking, at the dryness this relentless drought has done to a once beautiful lush green piece of land...I'm thinking back how the many cows, would graze on the once green grass, and the little calves once they had there fill of mummas milk would run around playing in the soft grass, kicking there back legs up in complete joyfullness...I can hear the mooooing of the bull calling his herd together as they were spreading out to far..There is a few horses , just grazing on the grass and at times gallopiaround and letting their mane blow in the breeze, horses are a graceful animal when allowed to run wild and free....
Rabbits, by the hundreds would come hopping around in the early hours of the morning, just nibbling on the sweet green grasses and playing chasing with each other, they really are fast hoppers and can out hop most animals..Kangaroos, my favourite, a very proud looking animal, they are also curious of what's happening around them, eating the grass and jumping here and their, awwwe little joeys sticking their heads out, some joeys old enough to go and run around the green soft cool grass, while mum and dad kangaroos just sit/ lay down quietly watching their little joeys playing together..Such a difference when it's rains and there's green grass everywhere...
Birds so many birds, the beautiful and gentle king parrots, rosellas, looking for seeds and worms, willy wagtails, sparrows, pretty wrens, all look like there playing hide and seek in the long green grass, galahs, with there grey and pink colours are munching on seeds..The big white cockatoos with their yellow comb, they stay in flocks and let me tell you when they land of a late afternoon the green paddocks, look like there covered in snow, their are hundreds in a flock, and the noise.Wow.
Here comes one, it's coming over and landing on me squawking to the others to come, they are all coming, I love how they land on me..I miss these times..Now all I see is brown & red dirt, & emptiness..I am lonely the cows don't sit near me any more, the rabbits, kangaroos are not around either, I miss them a lot..but mostly I miss the birds, the hundreds of birds that used to land on me and keep me company everyday..I am a resting spot for these birds, shade for the cows, horses, and under me is a rabbits burrow... I am a tree standing proud and tall, waiting until the rain falls and greens up the grass again and so I'm not so lonely only more.

Hello Grandy 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
And hello to all
I once had a kelpie x, her name was shadow. One day I was folding up the laundry and messing around with Shad. For something fun, I decided to put a pair of undies on her. The poor sweetheart hid behind the lounge- I felt so bad, even til this day. She was my best buddy.
Great thread Grandy..
(Am.hoping this new post will prompt you to have a read) 💜🤗

Hi Everyone
I literally just signed up to BB and wasn't sure where to start.. then this thread on pets caught my eye. I love animals so much. I grew up on a farm with all types of pets: dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, horses, cows, deer, alpacas... the list goes on.
I now have 2 cats. They were feral kittens when I found them on my parents farm. I had no intention of adopting them but here we are 12-13 years later. Ones name is 'Chiken'. she is extremely loud and loves her food. she also loves to go outside and catch small lizards and give them to me (alive). The other cat I called 'Hai Yu'. when I first found them, Chiken ran off leaving the other kitten all alone. I felt sorry for her and took her in, but didn't give her a name. Instead, when I got home after work, she would greet me and I would say "hey... you." and the name stuck.
Hai Yu is a very anti-social cat (much like myself, lol) she doesn't like associating with people during the day, but every night she sleeps as close to me as she can.
I love my cats and would be so lost without them.

Hello Lee, Peaceful Mayhem,
Thank you both for your lovely posts,
Lee I’m sorry about the long delay of my reply to yours..bad me...Oh Lee I can picture your beautiful kelpie cross...Shadow...nice name, I am guessing that you called her that because she was your little shadow and followed you everywhere... Oh your poor little fur buddy hiding behind the lounge, I wonder if she knew what you put on her...No doubt at all you gave her heaps of love and cuddles when you rescued her from your antics...
Peaceful...Growing up with so many animals around you must have been so wonderful. Animals are really beautiful creatures aren’t they, I also love animals they are so innocent and their eyes just melt my heart..
Your two little feral kittens must have been such wonderful pets for you as you were growing up and now they sound like the perfect companions for you...I believe that animals have a great sense of who we are...It looks like your two little feral kittens knew that you have a beautiful and compassionate heart and put their trust in you to look after them.,
Chicken sounds like she is a very mischievous cat, 😂 bringing you lizards maybe she wants you to care for them, she must be also very gentle to bring them to you alive...Hai Yu..sounds like she loves your cuddles at night time. How good is that...I have two dogs and have lots of cuddles especially at night when we are all fighting for room on my bed.....
Peaceful, our pets do put some light into our day and keep us feeling loved by them....without my two little fur buddies I would be so very lost with out them...
I hope today is a good day for everyone, and if you have a story you would like to share here about your pets or any animal please feel free to do so..your story just might put a smile on someone’s face...😁.

Hello Spitfire,
Hello and Thank you so very much for sharing your beautiful kitty Kats with us...
Love the names of your cats.. is spitty, cuddles and snuggles...just curious is spitty short for Spitfire..
Your sure got your hands full looking after two little mischievous kittens, and an elderly cat as well... I’m wondering if Snuggles is helping you in the hope that one of the fishies decides to Jump out so she can play with it....😁..
Spitty sounds like a beautiful cat, I’ve always said that if you look into any animals eyes all you’ll see in them is innocence and the beauty of their soul....It would be so good if you could use spitty’s photo for your avatar...just a thought.only if you want to no pressure at all....
Awe sounds like Spitty is really set in her ways..I had to smile when I read about Spitty wanting a 5 minute pat when you get home...I have two little dogs and when I get home on Tuesdays after work I can guarantee that the whole town know I’m home, they are loud and the cry when I get home. I once went to go to town and remembered I left my purse behind..lol I was not even gone 2 minutes, but when I got back home, it was like I had npbeen gone all day like Tuesdays...pets are so funny..
Cuddles and snuggles must be fun to watch and play with, cexploring the bushes and chasing everything that moves... little geckos Im pleased are smart enough to hide in the darkness of a day time.....Your little fur family sound really beautiful and you sound like the perfect mum for them..Hopefully in time Spitty will accept cuddles and snuggles when they become a little older and settle down a little bit.....
Thank you for your kindness in sharing your adorable little fur family with us Spitfire.💜....
Love and hugs..💜🤗..to readers , posters and of cause our animal families...
Grandy......
