We usually watch the fireworks from my daughter's MIL apartment. This is likely to be the last year as her MIL died recently & they can't afford to keep the apartment. It is usually nice with a chance to relax together before midnight & a good view from her balcony. Unsure what is happening now. There is a fire near my dtr although not yet directly threatening them so they're busy monitoring situation. I am struggling due to the meds I'm on so unsure how I'd cope with a late night. I've tried to keep myself together today but found this difficult with the heat & fire risk so likely to be exhausted tomorrow.

Hi Elizabeth

Not good at all having fires near a loved one even without an immediate thread...That would consume our concentration making us more vulnerable to any awful symptoms the next day

You would be superhuman not to be exhausted tomorrow as you have had so much on your plate Elizabeth...You are spot on when you mention having a late night being on the early stages of meds....It can be a pain

Had 42C in Vic today and its knocked me around even being used to my SSRI's

I hope you have some serious happiness in 2020 Elizabeth...You have been going through such a difficult time

my very best to you and your family for the new year

my kindest always

Thank you Paul for your kind words & support. I wish you as well as everyone else on the forums a much better 2020.

I alsolive in Victoria. Thank goodness yesterday was cooler. My daughter invited us to join her during the day but I saw the text late & wasn't i the mood to rush. We'd got up late as I'd taken a sleeping tablet Mon night Went into the city later & then found a shady spot in a park to sit and relax until her family came to the city. Hsb & I discussed goals for new year. Saw the Myer windows with the grandkids then went to a couple of things the kids wanted o see. The 17 mth old was very clingy restricting my dtr from doing things with the other kids so I took him to some stairs. He climbed up & down holding my hand 4 times. Each time he reached the top or bottom he'd turn back to repeat the process. My SIL who is Asian took us try food typical of his country. Then went back to his mothers apartment where we could watch the fireworks. Had fun with the 6 year old although I did have to keep explaining that we couldn't play chasey though the crowds. The highlight was in the apartment when the 17 month old finally started walking. Started with me holding things just out of reach & me sliding backwards as he stepped towards me to encourage him to take extra steps. Before midnight he was choosing to walk on his own without prompting. Seeing the excitement on his face & his families face was worth the tiredness I feel now. We caught a taxi home rather than face the long train trip.

Hi Elizabeth

Always a treat to read your posts and thankyou for contributing to the discussion here as well 🙂

You are a very busy lady Elizabeth...I have no idea of how you fit so much care into such a short time frame. It would have a delight to see your 17 month old relative start to walk...That is always a heartbreaker....as in joy!

That hot day we had on December 30 was awful....I read 43 degrees outside....Its strange when we were kids and we never noticed the heat as we do now!

Smart choice with the Taxi...worth every cent Elizabeth...I would do the same

my kindest always

Happy New year everyone. So glad it's all over and I can move on. I had a good night with friends and only have a couple of drinks which meant that I was full of productivity yesterday while my friends were struggling all day.
Back to work today which makes me sad as I have to spend time away from the kids but looking forward to our holiday which is in 2 weeks.
Have s great day all.
Marie.

Hi
Yes I'm back at work. Went back the day after boxing day. I'm a hairdresser. We booked our leave for after the peak time. So much better.
It's raining here today which is so welcome . I just hope the bushfire ares get some rain.
The area we are going camping was evacuated yesterday so we'll have to wait and see.
Might have to be a stay at home holiday but that's ok considering what 's been happening.
Marie.

Hi Marie

Good on you for booking your leave after the peak period! You are a very caring person...You mentioned "Might have to be a stay at home holiday but that's ok considering what 's been happening"

I do hope you can have a 'relaxing' vacation even if you treat yourselves at home as you mentioned 🙂

Thankyou for your valued contribution on this seasonal thread

The rain is wonderful to have here in southern Vic....I hope others also have some rain/showers too

my kind thoughts

Paul
