Hi everyone, This section of the forum is a little different to the others, as you may have noticed in looking around the threads. Elsewhere on the forums, we discuss some pretty heavy topics: mental health issues, thoughts of suicide, trauma, abuse, relationship breakdowns. Here is the place to come to get away from that and have a bit of fun. Distraction can be an important tool to draw on if you're finding yourself overwhelmed by distressing thoughts and feelings. As this is a section for respite from difficult topics, we will remove posts made in this section that attempt to discuss personal issues. Please use a support thread in the appropriate section for these discussions. Happy posting!

I have a bit of love for British crime fiction, police procedurals, edge of seat thrillers etc. I was a great fan of the Tv series The Wire & read the book as well. Any Tv series or movie suggestions also welcome. I was a big Sopranos fan. I'm hoping for some new suggestions in crime genre. All responses very appreciated. Mares x

The warmer weather has bought with it a frustrating problem; I have SBS..Sticky Bum Syndrome!! My leather dining chairs, as lovely as they are, tend to stick to my upper legs and bum when sitting for long periods. This happens when I'm on-line posting for hrs and find movement a continuous threat of sorts. I love sitting in my dining room due to the large sliding door where I can see the outside world. When I get up for coffee or a restroom break, the stingy painful sensation of leather and perspiration against my Lilly white bottom/legs, nearly ripping the skin from my flesh, makes for an interesting time to say the least; not to mention the rose red marks left behind resembling 3rd degree sunburn. Now, the resolve to this would of course be long pants. But lets face it, I'm here for hrs peep's. I don't want to be sitting here sweating in my jeans either! I thought about some type of lubricant, but my poor chairs wouldn't respond well, not to mention the slipping and sliding and eventual SBS all over again. I tried posting from my lounge, but the urge to fall asleep and my sore back soon let me know this wouldn't work either. So I've enlisted the help of an old ugly towel to do the trick. It's not prestigious, and leaves little red dots and crevices on my legs and bum. I must admit, I had a chuckle to myself when my chair got up from the table with me when SBS first occurred. he he.. Life has moments of delightful silliness. We need silliness and laughter; what's your go-to funny moment to add to our silly season this year? Cheers and laughter...Sara xoxo

Hi all, Thought it would be great if people could post in any jokes about psychology to lighten it all up! Keep them inoffensive and remember that a lot of people on this forum either have mental health issues or work in the mental health industry I'll get the ball rolling: How many psychotherapists does it take to change a lightbulb? Only one, but it takes a long time, and it has to really want to change. Hope to roll on the floor laughing next time I visit!

I'm just asking out of curiosity. I know my increasing depression and anxiety has changed my eating habits quite a bit over the years and I feel I don't care as much about food anymore and am quite lazy about it. I was just wondering what others who share these conditions eat. My day in food looks something like this: Breakfast: A piece of toast with promite or just butter, and black coffee. Lunch: Tinned soup or plain beans, or pasta with salt and butter. Dinner: A tiny portion of what my family eats, or nothing. Or an entire block of chocolate. And more coffee. What about you guys?

Hi everyone. I'm Steph or MsPurple. I am a 25 yo who has dyslexia. When I was younger I struggled with reading. I am a pretty good reader now however I consider myself someone with a poorer vocabulary. What taught me to read was the Harry Potter books. I listened to the audio books and would read alone with them (Stephen Fry's voice is amazing FYI). When the 5th book came out the audio book was 9 months away, so I read it on my own. It took me a week of pretty much reading all day. This was a huge stepping stone for me at the time and I started to have more confidence in my ability to read. Now as a 25 yo old I don't know how to find a book to read. I don't even know where to start. I have read a few YouTuber books (such as the Shane Dawson books, FYI a really good read) but other than that I haven't really been reading. How to you find a good book to read? My mum can go to any book shop and seem to find something, I just get intimidated. I do have a tablet so I do use the kindle app so it doesn't have to be a physical book. I just want something good to read as I think it would be better to read before bed than watch TV. 1. What book suggestions do you have for me or anyone wanting to take up reading? (my suggestion is a Shane Dawson book) 2. What is your favourite book? (mine is Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) Thanks guys for your help
