Hi Mark, it's ok, I think getting rejected and being OK with it is a great life skill
I'm really scared of applying for properties and getting g eejected so I don't apply unless I'm 100 percent certain I'll get it,...I also take rejection really badly
I think the ability to handle rejection can show self esteem.
Sometimes we get rejected for jobs even when we are a great candidate.,.

Hi Mark,
Sorry to read your daughter missed out on the job. It sounds as though she is handling it okay. I agree with Hanna and Sleepy and there could be so many reasons they picked who they did. It's great to keep trying and to remember the majority do miss out. Eventually she will find something- it is all practice and getting used to interviews too. So it is not really a loss. You sound so caring of your kids. Especially feeling her pain. She is lucky to have a Dad like you. Take it easy on yourself Mark; you are doing a great job with your kids 🙂

Hi Mark,
The rspca volunteering sounds a good place to start. I looked into it 5 yrs ago and again more recently and where i am they only had cleaning roles and not being with the animals. Still it is a start; but the animal jobs were so popular that they weren't available. I hope where u are your daughter can get a mix and not just the washing etc. Still it is a foot in the door for a young person. You'll have a big weekend coming up then for her 18th. Special birthday that's for sure. To be young again hey?

Mark
Just catching up on your thread. It is sad and disappointing for you and your daughter not get the job but I agree volunteering in the area she likes will help her get experience and show how keen she is. Often in volunteering you can start with work that is not what you want to do but after a while you can be doing the work you like.
Your daughter has a wonderful supportive dad and that will help her cope with disappointments.
Take care

Mark, you are such a great Dad! You have to deal with so much on your own. I think you're amazing to manage all this, and I hope you remember to look after yourself as much as you can as well. You are dealing with so much at the moment.
I honestly admire you.
