Hey to anyone reading this.
Last night I had an idea about starting a new thread about exercise especially walking. I am aware that walking is very beneficial for our mental, emotional and physical well being. And by actually doing it....well it can make a huge difference to how we cope with the storms that we face in life.
OK, I am not real good at disciplining myself to walk, and have to really push myself to do it. And sometimes it is even hard to leave this bedroom. Anyway I am not a beginner walker, as I have stuck to sort of a plan before. So I know that it does make me feel somewhat better. But I only stayed on the plan for a couple of months, then gave up.....for whatever reason. So here I am again wanting desperately to not fail this time.
So I guess this thread is for anyone that does walk, anyone that is struggling to walk because of depression or anxiety issues. And anyone else really......
I am unsure of the outcome of all this. But my ideas included: Sharing about things we have found out about exercise especially about walking. Writing down the reasons that one would chose to walk ( like something to help motivate). Being accountable in same way. Sharing about the places where we actually do walk, like the beach, gym, around the block, with the dog, out to the clothesline and back. And any other useful tips that could help others. So here we go......

Hello Shelly, Dools, readers and posters..🤗..
Today I went for a walk, just a small walk to Betty’s place..I haven’t walked down that street for a long time, although I do drive on that road to go out of the village...it’s the only road out..😁..
Walking I saw a lot of things that I don’t see when driving...I noticed at an old abandoned house that people were moving some things in...I’m pleased it’s been bought, can only imagine the amount of work they need to do to make it liveable, the lawns are overgrown by around 4 ft...with so much prickly weeds growing in it...
The same street still has 3 more abandoned houses in it...I’m thinking as I walk past to watch out for snakes, as their lawns are now overgrown and the houses look like something that Stephen King would be able to write a great thriller from...,
There are also the homes that have people live in with beautiful flowers...The roses that are on display look amazing I especially like an Orange coloured rose bush...full of roses as all the other rose bushes are..I have tried so many times to grow roses at mine..never succeeded though...Plenty of colourful Geraniums, pigfaces and all sorts of things....Passionfruit flowers on the outside of someone’s fence..
The creek next to Betty’s is still flowing very quickly, just a few days ago it was running over the road and flooded it...The water is brown and doesn’t look very clean...I saw a couple of frogs...playing in the wet soggy outta edges of the creek...oh and plenty of mosquitoes attacking me...
I am pleased that today I decided to swallow hard, take a deep breathe and take a step outside my gate, which led too many more steps and different scenery...
Kind thoughts with my love and hugs everyone..
Grandy..

That's great you stepped out your gate and walked. You sound brave.
You saw quite a few flowers. Is there any passionfruit
I don't mind seeing empty houses. Are they pretty run down

Hello Everyone,
Shell, thanks for sharing your walks with us. Must have been lovely to see the dolphin. In regards tot he kangaroo in the paddock, I guess a kangaroo would not eat too much. Not sure how much crop damage they do hopping around the place.
Grandy congratulations on your walk and thanks for sharing all your saw as well. Do you stop to smell the roses if they are hanging over the fence. I do that sometimes. Just check for bees first!
Went for a walk recently and saw a great number of kangaroos in a national park.
Don't seem to have the energy for a walk today! Might do so after work today.

Hello Shelly, Dools and readers...🤗..
Shelly..The houses are in a terrible state,...most are owned by former residents who have moved into the city years ago and must have forgotten they owned them....They are more likely to be full of snakes, mice, rats etc...No Passionfruit on the vines, but the flowers are an incentive to go for another walk....where’s theres flowers the fruit follows😃...and their is plenty on the outside of the fence...
Dools.. I did stop to smell the roses, I even picked a few from the abandoned houses for my dining room....also I took a few cuttings from pig faces, which I love the vibrant colours, some Geraniums and a few more I don’t know the name of....My neighbour has a green thumb...everything she plants grows..She has a couple of nectarine trees, Orange trees, Apple trees, and a lovely vegetable and flower garden....When she is nsc (not so cranky) she will give me some fruit or vegetables....rarely but I am very appreciative when she does...
While I’m on a roll I might try to walk along a different street in town....We only have 3 streets in the village..😁..
Hoping you all have a nice day today...We just got over some minor flooding a couple of day ago....tomorrow we are supposed to get 28 mil of rain...
Kind thoughts everyone with a hug .l.
Grandy..

Hi Everyone,
Shell, I am still looking for that energy and motivation! Ha. Ha. I did do some gardening today, vacuumed, washed the sheets and did the dishes. Lots of exercise happening there right!
Maybe in the morning I will go for a stroll before work.
Grandy, thanks for sharing your experiences with us. I put some cuttings in our garden today, should have done that a month ago.
I was going to go for a walk in the garden about 9.30 p.m. My husband asked me not to as he didn't want all the neighbours dogs barking for hours! Good point.
A walk in the early morning might work out okay.

Hi Everyone,
This morning I went for a walk at sunrise. There was a very faint tinge of pink on the horizon, the rest of the sky was various shades of grey. The crops have turned a golden yellow and were dull in the mild light formed by the clouds.
The galahs were not trying to perch in the canola crop this morning, a few beautiful coloured parrots were there today.
I spotted a kangaroo in a crop, up on a small hill, all I could see was the roos head and ears. The magpies just chatted away as I walked under their tree and decided they didn't need to swoop me.
There seemed to be a lot of birds around the place this morning.
Back at home I was pleased I had filled the bird baths yesterday, I saw some pretty parrots in one of them.
