Hey to anyone reading this.
Last night I had an idea about starting a new thread about exercise especially walking. I am aware that walking is very beneficial for our mental, emotional and physical well being. And by actually doing it....well it can make a huge difference to how we cope with the storms that we face in life.
OK, I am not real good at disciplining myself to walk, and have to really push myself to do it. And sometimes it is even hard to leave this bedroom. Anyway I am not a beginner walker, as I have stuck to sort of a plan before. So I know that it does make me feel somewhat better. But I only stayed on the plan for a couple of months, then gave up.....for whatever reason. So here I am again wanting desperately to not fail this time.
So I guess this thread is for anyone that does walk, anyone that is struggling to walk because of depression or anxiety issues. And anyone else really......
I am unsure of the outcome of all this. But my ideas included: Sharing about things we have found out about exercise especially about walking. Writing down the reasons that one would chose to walk ( like something to help motivate). Being accountable in same way. Sharing about the places where we actually do walk, like the beach, gym, around the block, with the dog, out to the clothesline and back. And any other useful tips that could help others. So here we go......

Went for a walk this morning. Tried to clear my mind of confusing and conflicting thoughts. They just kept going around and around and became worse!
Concentrated on the colours around me as the sun slowly rose through the grey clouds, adding texture and warmth in hues to the crops I was walking past.
I also saw a rainbow.

Hi beautiful people
I have been doing a little exercise over the last few days or so. It's hard to know which days because they run into one another.
I am experiencing moments of fear. I know eventually I will be ok. And tiredness. The tiredness is lifting as I am eating a bit better. I was eating so much junk and it was affecting me in a bad way big time.
Today I walked down at the rec with my son, he wanted to try out the camera on his new phone. So he was taking many photos. My favourite one is a photo of a tree with many low spread out branches. One of these branches had a tiny little pool in the fork of the branch. This pool had a couple on yellow leaves floating in the water. He took a close up of this little branch pool. Its beautiful.
We walked passed the hobby farm, I noticed some neatly shown sheep resting in the shade. Their baas were super cute. I feed one some green grass.
I also had a swing on the round swing. I closed my eyes and concentrated on the gentle motion of the sway
Nice to get some fresh air and sunshine

Hi beautiful people
I finally got out to the ocean to walk on Breakwall Path. I do feel somewhat better from the fresh ocean air, gentle sunshine and just being outside.
I also felt more energetic so it was easier to walk, I even walked up Lighthouse Hill. The surge in energy was from an iced coffee at 7:30am. I only drink iced coffee on rare occasions. The caffeine high sends me up the walls. And I often get jittery and jumpy. But the surge was definitely noticeable and appreciated as I just wanted to move more, because I enjoy that and I had been so very tired for a few weeks or so.
Walking up Lighthouse Hill was beautiful, especially if you turn around and look all around as you walk up it. Which I did. I could see a lot of the port on the left of me, parts of the city, a beach, ocean and dunes on the other side. Plus a grassy mountain of into the distance some. Once I was up the top of the hill, I made may through the opened picket gate and rested leaning on the fence. Just sort of folded my arms on the fence and looked out at the blue ocean below. I also peered into the lighthouse cottage window. Just saw an empty desk with a timber chair.
Once I walked back down the hill, I turned and headed out towards the Breakwall. I guy riding a battery operated skateboard and myself nearly collided. He said sorry and laughed with a carefree fun loving face. I found myself saying it's ok and smiling back. It felt so good to smile. His carefree manner was catching. So thankyou whoever you are.
I walked right to the end and towards "Comfy Rock". The rock I sometimes perch on and watch the waves coming in from below. And watch the ships coming and going. I perched there a while, enjoying the breeze. Sooo nice. I noticed some tiny shells sticking to the rocks, way down below me. And some of that green mossy plant that you see covering some rocks. A cargo ship was also making its way back out to sea. I would say this was a small cargo ship.
There was also around 10 large concrete boulders at the end of the path near where I was sitting. The boulders were about 2 metres by 3 metres. They were sort of placed here and there. I am only guessing at some point they will move them and place them on the sides of the path. On top of all the rocks etc that line this path. Maybe in the gaps where waves sometimes splash on up. Sort of fun though when you get sprayed with water.
I walked on back after a bit.

Hoping you are going OK Mrs D..
Witnessing the sun rise up over the crops does sound beautiful.
Don't I know about confusing thoughts going around and around. Have they eased off a bit for you Mrs D?

Hi Elizabeth, I also find it challenging to write sometimes when I am struggling. The words don't flow or sonething (thoughts get scattered and not clear) Just replying to your post around the beginning of November anyway
You sounded like you had some fun playing cricket with your grandson. Though I am not hugely fond of it. Reason being is the ball. I am unsure why but sport type balls often hit me. Glad you had some time with your grandchildren though. I hope it relaxed you some.

Oh that is beautiful riding your bike to the markets Bansky. Do you have a basket on your bike then?
I do know what you mean about craving the sunshine and fresh air.
May you hopefully get some tomorrow when you walk with your dog in the park.

I am working on getting back into the habit of walking or doing other exercise every day. Even it is only a small walk.
I just got back from walking up to the tyre shop and back. Its properly about a 30 minute walk. At the traffic lights there was one traffic light laying on the footpath, it was still showing all the lights working properly. It just looked real odd is all

Yesterday I rode partly around the block on my bike.
Today I walked out on the coastal path. Then drove along the coast, parked up on top of a hill in a carpark. From there walked along a high walkway. One side you can see the ocean, which was a real beautiful blue. The over side you can see houses and shrubs.

Hi Shelll and all reading,
I didn't manage a walk today. We have had really strong hot winds here, not much fun walking in weather like that. The wind brought a lot of dirt with it. I did do some stretches and cleaned the bathroom.
Recently during a local walk I saw the kangaroo in the cereal crop again. I'm not sure the farmer would be too happy seeing the roo there!
Hope to go for a walk tomorrow depending on the weather.
Thinking of you Shelll, saw a post of yours elsewhere.
