🌱 Diary- 5 Things You Noticed in Nature Today

Can you think of 5 things you noticed or observed in nature today, using all your senses?

I was wondering if this would be a beneficial exercise to help us focus on something else instead of painful emotions, troubled thoughts, over thinking, anxiety feelings and the darkness of that alone place.

As well as to see that there really is beauty all around us....

Hi Shell and all,

krystalramone: I agree that nature can be therapeutic 🙂

Personally, I often find animals, blue skies, Gentle breezes, sunny days and pretty flowers more healing than the physical company of other people.

Sorry, I can never seem to come up with 5 but I’ll start writing and see what I come up with:

1. Yesterday, I stepped outside for a bit around sunset. The cool air surprised me and I found it quite invigorating. It gave me a short-lived sense of peace as though everything was going to be “okay” again.

2. I noticed birds chirping yesterday and today. There’s something that I find very comforting about birds (and animals in general).

3. White butterflies that I have been seeing all week. I find them comforting and mesmerising as they flutter on their way to do whatever it is they do. They also remind me of one of the BB members here, which makes me smile.

Kind thoughts,

Pepper xoxo

Looking out my front door,

1....... I can see cloudy sky blue background with fluffy white and grey clouds.

2.......I can hear the wind blowing through the giant gum tree across my road.

3........The birds are singing a beautiful song of joy..wondering do animals struggle with depression?

4........I can smell the newly slashed Grass in the paddock across the road.

5........I'm sipping on a nice lemon water so I can taste the sourness of the lemon

Kind thoughts for all your health

Hi GG, Shell and all;

GG: Thank you so much for sharing. How beautiful...

Hi all,

Had to share this

1) Each evening a few kangaroos come up to the house and we feed them leftover bread. Two of the females have joeys in the pouch which have just started popping their head out for a look. Last night as one of the mothers was holding her bread and eating it, the joey stuck it's head out and began nibbling on the bottom corner of the bread.

2)I could hear a baby bird squawking in a tree just out the back door so there must be a nest.

3)The beautiful smell of the land just as the rain started.

4)Watching the big black clouds slowly moving across the sky.

5)The moon

I'm loving this time of year, so many birds with babies. Some highlights for me:

1. A family of beautiful huge, rare Kites (raptors) nest on my street. We take a morning walk by them many times a week. Their baby finally successfully left the nest and I watched the three of them soaring over our house.

2. Baby kite got hungry his first week out of the nest, sometimes returned to his nest calling out to Mum and Dad to feed him.(lots of baby birds do this, leaving the nest sucks). I really felt for the little guy and felt grateful witnessing this part of his life.

3.I live near a mountain and every day is beautiful. The best days are when it rains and the clouds and mist snuggle all around it.

4.Saw my first satin bower bird bower!

5. The Local magpie babies came to visit for the first time. Skinny, hungry, intelligent little beauties. I love watching the parents feed them and the sound they make.

Hello Everyone,

I hope you all don't mind but I would like to bump this thread up, it's sat idle for a while and even though I didn't leave my veranda today,

5 things that I noticed in nature today was..

  1. The green colour of the grass has disappeared around here the grass is brown or non existent, due to drought.
  2. The little birds were playing in the dirt,,they looked like they were having a bath in the dirt..
  3. the coldness of the air today against my face, especially my nose and ears..lol.
  4. the smell of smoke, drifting over from fireplaces.
  5. I heard the emptiness of the grazing land accross the road, the cows have all been taken to hopefully greener pastures somewhere...

These are just a few things I saw today, while I was sipping on a hot lemon and honey tea on my veranda...

Did you see 5 things in Nature today that you would like to share?

Kind and caring thoughts.

Hi Grandy and Everyone.

It is a lovely idea to re-start this thread again! I'm going to cheat a little and mention 5 things I have seen recently on a short holiday and not today.

1) An amazing ring around the sun which apparently is a rare phenomenon which I believe has something to do with ice particles.

2) Dolphins swimming close to shore surfacing for air.

3) One solitary swan paddling along the coast.

4) Gum trees recovering after a fire, beginning to show new growth.

5) Yacca plants 3 metres in height!

I will try to be more observant of my own surroundings next time I am in the garden or going for a work.

Excellent idea Grandy. Cheers all from Dools

Hello Everyone,

Today..I saw from my back yard walk..

  1. My lemon tree needing a good soaking.
  2. a scurry of tiny black ants walking in a single line along my hose...Lol reminds me of that song.."the ants come marching one by one hooray,hooray,"..
  3. The smell of mint as I pick and crush a mint ear in my hands.
  4. The cold crisp clean air making the tip of my nose and ears cold..
  5. I heard some birds they sound like they are fighting over something, maybe some juicy worm 🐛 one of them found and won't share..

Has anyone else been outside today, maybe just sitting while having a cuppa, or maybe doing some gardening, or walking...if so .... can you share...5 things you noticed in Nature today..

Hugs 🤗,

Grandy..

Hello everyone,

I decided I wanted to sit out side late afternoon until early evening and I discovered that ,the atmosphere and the little bugs, birds etc act differently, I suppose they are fussing around getting ready for the coldness of the night..

1)......I smelled the smoke from so many inside wood fires,,

2)......I saw the first star that came out tonight, I made a wish apron it...fingers crossed..

3)......I heard the birds, chirping away happily in their nests,

4).......I tasted the hot lemon tea I was sipping on.

5)......I felt the dampness of the night air, kind of refreshing..

I hope everyone has a good day

Grandy..
