Can you think of 5 things you noticed or observed in nature today, using all your senses?
I was wondering if this would be a beneficial exercise to help us focus on something else instead of painful emotions, troubled thoughts, over thinking, anxiety feelings and the darkness of that alone place.
As well as to see that there really is beauty all around us....

Hello 🙂
Today I noticed..
I have tadpoles in my pond.
My swan taking a 'dust bath' - she chills with chooks sometimes.
That tiny red legged mites live in under the leaves of the weeds my swan eats.
I have tiny jasmine plants growing that I can transplant near the chook shed.
That the lichen that falls from my almond tree - disturbed by the cat in the branch above you; looks like a spider when it lands on you.

Hey Judahlion, hope you are okay? My name is Shell....
That is pretty cool having your own swan. I am guessing that is the one in your profile picture there. I didn't even know they liked having "dust baths". You do sound quite observant, noticing the tiny legged red mites. That is something I would properly do, that is to just study closely the underside of a leaf. Can you see them with the naked eye,?like how big are the red mites. I was shown ...I think they were orange bugs, that were living on the branch of this person's orange tree. Anyway if they are touched they let of some awful smell ( that is what the person told me)
May you keep noticing the beauty all around you.
Take care now.
Shell xx

Hey SourceShield,
I think I have came across you before on the forums. Might have been a while ago though. Hope you are having a great day today.
Love walking with nothing on my feet also. Your feet feel nice and free like. Walking on grass is good, except if there are spiky things like "bindi".And have you been bitten by a large ant then?Sorry if you have, I guess you would definitely feel that. I have been bitten by green ants, numerous times. That does not feel that good...
Take care

Hey again Star,
Hope you are well up there , and thank you ever so much for the heart felt hug. Here is one for you also. And you still refer to me as Shelle- belle, which I have always liked. It makes me feel elegant, royal or that I came from France or something.
You would have lots of different scents there where you live, some pleasant and some not so much. I can't quite remember the scent of jasmine, but I am sure I have smelt it before. Is it a tiny white flower? Ah nice....love the fresh taste of clean running water, that has perhaps been running over and through rocks for quite some time. Ah the hungry...hungry maggies, have or do the mother magpies swoop at you?
Anyway I do hope you are doing well there with all your dogs and everything.
Look and hugs
Shelle Belle xx

I'm okay - thanks for asking; but, now that I feel the worst is over I'm finding it really difficult to be around people and in public places. After reading a motivating post by Tony WK, I've created spaces outside to be with my creatures. It's all I can do right now. Laying on the lawn with my swan next to me - her name is Grace - you can't help but notice all these little things. Amazing stuff. She [Grace] is still in her 'ugly duckling' phase - dull grey/beige feathers and tufts of down, but..well, you can imagine how beautiful she will be one day huh.
The pic here embodies all I hope to achieve with healing so that, one day, I may look back and see the transformation. I'm learning, through being mindful (in here), of where "I am". Slowly, slowly huh.
I hope you are doing okay, too? The animal world is restful - not so much physically; mentally. I have discovered the "Pets Helping you through the tough times and keeping you well" thread in the 'Stay Well' Forum, so I plan on expounding there. Maybe if you are up to it and you haven't already been there, I may see you there. No pressure, though - I'll leave it entirely up to you.
Today I noticed..
How soothing the sound of the water falling into my pond is.
That the debris at the bottom of my pond will make great fertilizer for my garden.
When my swan (Grace) swims, she leaves an oil slick from her feathers. You see, she stimulates this gland near her tail feathers with her beak; rubs it under her chin and her cheeks so when she preens the oils make her feather water resistant. So, perfectly made.
My dog likes the feeling of the sun's warmth on his belly.
So does one of my cats.

Today at the beach I noticed
The pattern the receding waves leave on the beach
The graceful gliding movements of a pelican
The various bird calls
Two cute ducks waddling their way across the grass
The glory of a sunset

5 things I noticed in nature today
3 baby swans, they have grown a lot in the last few weeks
Wattle, I think it was wattle, yellow and beautiful
A gentle breeze, nice after so much strong wind
Blue skies with large puffy clouds
Large branches from the tree nearby waving in the breeze

Ahh Wishful, you have finally decided to post on this thread. Good for you. And I do like the 5 things you noticed.
5 things I have noticed in nature today has been:
1. The sound of strong wind gusts battering trees against the house guttering
2. The smell of sweet jasmine as I brushed against it while walking along the deck
3. The sight of debris blown across the deck as a result of strong winds
4. The feel of a wood splinter from the broom handle as I swept away the debris
5. The taste of a bitter grapefruit which I picked from my tree and had at lunchtime
